looking forward to seeing the Flames light up the oilers. I want to see Johnny's first of many goals against the oil tonight especially in Edmonton so the fans there can see what happens when you don't rush your prospects.

Based on the last 2 years:

- 2 years ago Oilers score 8 at the Saddledome
- last year Flames score 8 at rexall

What is the next step?

You're probably right. Edmonton is just too good at hockeying.

You can bet the Oilers had this one circled on their calendars the second the schedule came out. They have a lot of embarrassment and humiliation to make up for from last season and I suspect they will play hard to make up for it. The Flames are going to need to weather the first 15 minutes of the game. They do that they will win it. The Oilers score early and I think this could be a long night.

Need some revenge for last night as I still have a bitter taste in my mouth. Here's hoping for a humiliating 6-0 win so I can spend all day tomorrow reading the chaos that ensues on HFboards.

Oilers win with ease.

15-0

Johnny hockey has to leave the game to attend his friends birthday party at chuck e cheese.

If I had my druthers, I'd adjust the lines accordingly:

Gaudreau - Monahan - Hudler
Glencross - Backlund - Byron
Raymond - Stajan - Colborne
Bollig - Bouma - McGrattan

I would also move Johnny to 1st unit PP ahead of Glencross; along with Brodie instead of Russell
and maybe Diaz slots in for Wideman

Typical early season post by an Oilers fan.

Well just to prove you wrong I will post this exact same thing every oilers/flames game. Will that make you fell better?

Nah, just calling you out for your early season trolling on a Flames message board.

Apparently Jordan, Tyler and Ryan are going too - Johnny cleans up in a game of mini sticks.

Bollig played pretty well. With teams not dressing tough lineups I would take McGrattan out and put in one of the more skilled guys. Bollig and Engelland is more than sufficient against lot of teams now.

Bollig is actually quite serviceable.

If you use Michael Parkatti's adjusted Corsi metric - which allows for comparisons by adjusting for Quality of Competition, Quality of Teammates and Zone Starts - Bollig comes in at an Adjusted Corsi of 2.19, which would be about the same as Jiri Hudler. Granted, Bollig was on a stacked team, so even if you downgrade Bollig slightly due to this advantage, his first full year compares (possession-wise) to Joe Colborne.
-Almost all D-zone starts (18% offensive zone start.....18%!!)
-Decent quality of opposition (Only Patrick Kane's line faced tougher opposition)
-Corsi keeping afloat
Spoiler!

Yeah, he's a face-puncher but he's hardly a possession black hole. Wish people would stop thinking of him that way.
