Heroin beer at the Saddledome

Certain beers definitely get me drunker than others. I have narrowed it down though. I think its the 10th one.

In whipping creams it doesn't actually dissolve in to it. It vents of almost immediately after dispensing . The amount that would remain a liquid in cold beer would actually be a real health risk.

I didn't read through the 3 pages, but I've heard that they use nitrogen to pump the beer from the kegs rather than CO2 due to the length of the lines.

EDIT: Back in my 'glory' days, I do recall having a mission to drink as many heroine beers as I could in one game. I managed to drink 8.5 (from what I've been told), and literally fell over into the row in front of me when attempting to stand up at the end of the game. Again, from what I've been told.

I follow those same rules. It's a beer for every 10 minutes of hockey, so there's a little wiggle room with intermissions and such. I wouldn't recommend more than six. Let's just say I tried to start a very unsuccessful "Monahan" chant at the game where Monahan scored in the last minute against the devils to win the game. Very unsuccessful....

I get the feeling I'm the only Flames fan over the age of majority and attended multiple games at the Dome that's never had a heroin beer. Can't get past the smell of them, don't even want to know what the taste is like. Plus, the fountain coke had tried to kill me twice now.

Personal record during a game was 9. From a few seasons ago against Colorado. It was a work night and I was in rough, rough shape the next day. 5 alarm hang over (and the saddlebeers always seem to bring on a bad one).

That said, my friend who was with me (who I have a good deal of size on) had 11. Couldn't believe it.

To my credit, however, I remember the awarded goal to Rene Bourque that night when we was tripped on a breakaway on an empty net. Only time I've ever seen that call. Conversely, for some odd reason, my friend doesn't recall this.

Now that I have been able to legally drink at the Dome for half of my 36 years, I believe a reassessment of my heroin beer goals are in order. Plus I noted at the Sept. 30 ex game that the prices had inched up again. It's getting awfully expensive to chug those...

EDIT: thanks to the magic of the interwebz, I determined that the game with the awarded goal occurred in October of 2011. I also determined Bourque was awarded another goal in similar circumstances in February of 2013. He must currently lead all active players in that bizarre stat...

I checked last night, and the cups are indeed stamped as 20oz/591mL.

So, if you're drinking 6 of them during the game, you're consuming a little over 3.5 litres of beer in about 2 and a half hours (or the equivalent of 10 cans of beer).

My friend and I were engaged in one-upsmanship that night. Although I lost, I'm pretty sure the damage the extra 2 did to him was better not endured by me.

And I DID NOT feel good. At all.

At 8 you're not even drunk anymore, you're just straight brain damaged. Unless you close one eye you're watching a hockey game with 20 skaters on the ice
