lip-synched

No doubt a great recording but that performance was pre-recorded. I have no doubt she could have handled to perfection but non the less it was lip-synched

Perhaps sacrilegious, but half the time I'm listening to the anthem, I'm just waiting for it to be over. I also consider it a small victory when it's two same-country teams playing, as you only have to listen to one anthem.

I don't mind them during special occasions (Holidays like Remembrance Day, HNIC) or the playoffs, and realize they add to the atmosphere in the right situation, but I'd be totally ok if we got rid of them for your average regular-season game.

I'm always pissed off when someone like HNiC cut it out, I can understand that it's not for everyone but there is a lot of sports fans that really look forwards to the performance and also follow other singers throughout the league

We've been blessed for 16 years having Heather.

Sens anthem singer used to sing "God Bless America" when the Rangers played. Blissfully short. I'm with Table5, get rid of the stupid anthems. Waste of time.

I get some small pleasure in making the Americans listen to our anthem.

Holy crap, Burton, you don't have to make every song sound like something off one of your solo albums.

That would have been much better if he had sung American Woman instead of the Star Spangled Banner.

Maybe, as it's very customary (especially then) for lip-synching, but mostly it was because of the problems with electronics but make no mistake Hanna..Whitney Houston sang that Anthem as it sounded, she wasn't the fu%k*ng Village People.

You don't record a song a week beforehand because of electronics....

Like I said I have zero doubt in her abilities but it was lip-synced and no matter how great a lip-synced performance is it doesn't compare to a singer that has to fight the nerves of a live performance. You pulled that out as the best ever and I'm just letting you know it was lip-synced.. If we would have heard a live performance it would have been a hell of a one and better then that recoding no question... but it wasn't

Big events with very temporary stages usually have lip synced singing. Not because of any talent or lack of talent of the singer. It's because the chances or something not working properly when doing a quick setup are quite high.

Well that explains why it was lip synced but still a lip sync performance can't be called the greatest performance. It needs to be live.

Heather Liscano never over sung the anthems and she had a pleasant tone to her voice.
Alot of changes these past couple of years at the Dome. Didn't think her retiring early would be one of them! Best of luck to her.
