Kerry Joseph, interesting, I wonder if it's to actually play or to be another guy working with their young QBs?
In Edmonton he recieved rave reviews for his work with their young QBs.

But but but but.... Darian is going to be all better before the end of October... they just told us that last week after scoring zero points and not getting close enough to even attempt a field goal.... I'm sure they weren't lying about that...
So why bother bringing in re-tread 41 year old Joseph? They all but have a playoff spot locked up, likely 3rd in the West (although there is an outside shot it will be the cross-over). What's a QB who hasn't played meaningful football in, what, 2 years going to do? And he wasn't exactly great when he did play.
Joke franchise is a joke.

I think that's exactly it.
If he shakes a coaches hand now its an even bigger snub to Huff.

Well, I don't think bringing Joseph in is for mentoring at all, I mean you already have Darian Durant in that role while he's injured. Clearly Doege isn't ready yet and Sunseri while he has had his moments has also struggled in the starter's role. If I were to list the pecking order of Riders QB, it would be the following:
1. Tino Sunseri
2. Kerry Joseph
3. Seth Doege
4. Keith Price
Sunseri will have a very short leash and I wouldn't be surprised to see Joseph named starter in a couple of weeks.

Reason: leash, not lease (lol)

there was talk of Joseph becoming the QB coach in Edmonton last year (iirc), so don't dismiss the mentor role too quick.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off as dismissing it, as you are right, I think Joseph will provide that type of role for the time he is in Regina. That said, I just think the Riders don't have much confidence in Sunseri or Doege and who knows if Durant will be back this season. It seems pretty clear they were interested in Burris, but they couldn't swing a deal with the REDBLACKS. I'm just happy the Stamps don't have those types of issues at the QB position (knock on wood).

Because Darian's arm somehow prevents him from being that mentor to the young QBs, or because he is as good at that as he is at playing football (i.e. about mid-pack)?
No real good way to put lipstick on this pig....

BC's lone TD so far was aided by two pass interference penalty by Ottawa. The last one was BS call. I did not see any obstruction there. BC scored after the penalty.

Classy retirement ceremony for Calvillo at halftime! On a side note, this Duran Carter is going to be a star. Would not be surprised if he made the NFL in a year or two.

Hmm, I wonder what is going on here:

#Bombers have released running back Nic Grigsby, the #CFL touchdown leader who was benched last week. He says he asked for it.

Wow, Winnipeg... I thought they got rid of all the jokers last year. I have no idea what they are thinking right now releasing RB Nic Grigsby. I guess there goes another RB Saskatchewan will pick up soon.
As for QB Troy Smith. I think he's got all the talent but he's got poor decision making, problem reading CFL defenses and his accuracy is just brutal. The guy can throw long ball but not accurate. With the emergence of Jonathan Crompton, there is no surprise Smith was sent packing. Too bad for Troy Smith that Montreal didn't hire Jeff Garcia as a QB coach at the beginning of the season. Garcia could have help him with some of his flaws.
