Default Did gaudreau really gain NO weight since last season?

Was watching this neat little highlight reel,
http://youtu.be/jtgCm7umOvk

researched his weight and...

Wait, has this kid not gained a single lb?
I'm into fitness... Gaining 2 lbs a month over the summer wouldn't hurt and wouldn't add much fat to him.

So have these stats not been updated?

Last Year : 5-8/159

This Year: 5-9/160

It's a non-issue though.
Gaudreau has talked to other small NHLers like St. Louis and emphasized not getting too big, otherwise it becomes too difficult to stickhandle. He doesn't even look that small on the ice.

too much is being made about his weight

Tod Button and Cammalleri are right. He doesn't need to gain weight. He relies on his quickness and mind to play his style of game.

I'm certainly not the authority on the subject, but when you're going up against 6'9" Chara, is 10 lbs really going to make a difference?

As other have said, quickness, core strength and balance are more important than just adding pounds of muscle.

Why couldn't this - and the "I think Gaudreau will lead the team in points - threads have gone in one of the many Gaudreau themed topics that already exist? It's easy to see why our fanbase gets accused of overhyping the guy at every turn.

He said when he came to camp he was up 6(?) pounds and weighed 160. My guess is the previous 160 was a bit of a stretch.

In the end, it's superfluous. Every year, rookies come to camp weighing 15 lbs more and the fans salivate only to have it make no difference.

Who gives a damn? He makes basically every other player he's faced look like some kid in bantam. If anything his size is an advantage.

If he gained 10 pounds he might lose a gear of speed or agility, which might leave him more vulnerable to the brutes that are going to be head-hunting him. Simple as that.

Thanks to those that answered. Even 160 seems small but if he produces who cares.

To those of you flaming, go start your own message boards, I didn't break any rules.

Stop making flames fans look bad :-/

That highlight reel IS awesome isn't it?
I want to see how he looks against the likes of full time seasoned nhl caliber players over 82 games.

It's exciting.

It's not flaming and it doesn't make flames fans "look bad" for suggesting that your question could have gone in one of the many threads that currently exist on this board about Gaudreau.

Honestly it doesn't bother me per se. I wouldn't usually even mention it. I have an active youtube channel.. I know trolls. The truth is I knew I'd get crap for asking.
The way I see it, gaudreau is likely the most talented prospect the flames have had in.
Well since Iginla?

I guess people should expect lots of posts about him.
The ones that added nothing to the conversation though, those are the ones that make me twice about posting.

New topical thread or have my question buried in another thread on another topic about the guy.

I doubt his game would change much if he were 170lbs.

The previously reported weight of 160lbs was more than likely extremely generous.
