Well if the options, according to what you thought was implied, were join the group or lose your power I could see why someone would want to go to the Eternals even if it meant no long being town aligned. If it was town-aligned, why are they going around offering people spots and if they reject they threaten them with becoming "powerless." It does not seem town friendly one bit.

GP_Matt accepted membership before his "death post" when he was 1 vote away from lynch.
I feel if he is town-aligned and the group is town-aligned he should have said something like "I joined Member of Eternals, I'm still a townie and it's a good thing for townie to join" we may not have believed him until he died and showed town but that's one of the point of death posts is to give final information that town could use. He held out on the town on what appears to be important information.
So I am leaning more towards no, he can't be believed.

I never made a death post so I am not sure what you are referring to.
I was close to dying but there was still debate and I never got to the point of worrying I would be lynched right away. I can't remember if I asked for calm and time or if a few posters unvoted before I needed to. Wednesday morning was a bit fuzzy for me.

Not believing some of us is sound game playing. Not believing all of us is a different animal.
Scenario one: we are exposed mafia. If this is the case the town will figure it out after a few of us die and then wrap up the game.
Scenario two: we are being converted into a cult and have a new victory condition. In that case we win if everyone joins us and everyone who joins us wins. At two new members a day we will win pretty fast and no offence but the game design is pretty weak ( in my opinion)
Scenario three: one faction is good and the other bad. We are all saying the same thing more or less so this seems unlikely.
Scenario four: we are all townies. This seems unlikely as we will eventually outnumber everyone and will be able to easily pick off the mafia
Scenario five: we are telling the truth and a random mix of town and mafia and the groups are mostly extra flavour to distract us from playing the game.

Unvote EXTREMELY RELUCTANTLY
FALCON PUNCH
Vote: GP_MATT
The fact he admits he wasn't concerned with a lynch, when he has 11 votes and multiple people waiting to drop the hammer seems to suggest he had some votes on his side and knew they were going to unvote. Which I already thought seemed to happen.

And once I started posting the votes were removed. I started posting after I got the offer but before I accepted it. Once I accepted it I thought there were a bunch of us so I was trying to figure out a way to identify the other posters without giving myself up. I was hoping it was a group of people who might be all on the town side so we would have someone to trust.
My final message from Mazrim was that if I paid attention I would figure out who the members were.

Reading Mazrim's first post, he mentions Master Hand and Pit. I had to google these guys... I still don't really understand them.
But could this Master Hand be a player and he's the one that is recruiting people to the Guardians or the Eternals?

You made at most a single post before accepting the offer, this one:

So not really sure what you're getting at.
My point is even with multiple people on board to drop the hammer after giving you a chance to say something, you weren't concerned about being lynched? How? It seems to imply you knew people would unvote.

I keep flipflopping between the cult vs benevolent entity. Whoever is doing the recruitment must have something to gain.
I kind of like the ignore the cult because only the mafia can deal with it with their 2 kills. And now that it is revealed that the consequence is losing a power.
I think that both ecf and matt gp haven't been very honest with us though. First there is no mention of consequence now there is when we want to lynch anyone else who joins. Not being honest is anti town.

I will look closer tomorrow. I know I was composing my death post in my head but always felt like I could explain it for the simple misunderstanding that it was.
Remember, I was in that position because I provided information that sounded suspicious but was later proven innocent. I had faith that truth would triumph over the darkness.
Time for the pub. Have a good night.

That should have said I am unsure with the lynch joiners philosophy now that there is a consequence.

That's odd. Stazzy33 had two posts today and said in an earlier post he'd be around more this weekend.
I mean he's obviously the second least active poster but it sure looked like he was posting more today and would be posting more.

Disagree. You made this post:

With that in mind, I do not know if he is mafia so my biggest concern is if you guys decide to lynch me. When I flip town please do not read into the link between us and trust him more than you otherwise would. He may be town but he may also be mafia.
|
Pika saw that starseed then refused to hammer, putting us in our current position, and he also is in a cult.
There are a few other posts where you refer to having to put out fires first.

Show me where this is against the rules?

Already noted how bad idea this was.

I still don’t understand why this was such a terrible idea. If we didn’t vote anyone off on Day 1, we would still have an extra town and our role cop. I get that we need to be able to see who’s voting for who and use that info down the road, but I’m not convinced much info is/was gained on Day 1. I guess we will see.

I agree with the logic in this post.

Dont' know if we can blame anyone for going back and forth yesterday.

But it didn't take too much to convince him to go back to RatherDashing near the hammer.

I’m not sure where you’re going with this.

... seemed to be laying especially low while upping his post counts with things we could get on the first post soon.
|
I was trying to organize some info to see if I could see any patterns and thought it could be useful for the rest of the town. That information still isn’t in the first post, and I think it would be beneficial if we keep updating that list whenever we get anything new.
