Flames Bold prediction: Gaudreau will lead the Flames in scoring in 2014-15

I think he can, and I think he will. Hudler is the only challenger.

2 weeks ago, I didn't think he was going to be an NHLer, but I think he is the real deal.

I already predicted well before the pre-season started in my predictions thread he would lead the team in points. He is light years ahead of everyone on this team talent wise imo.

dissentower was boldly predicting things about John Gaudreau before boldly predicting things about John Gaudreau was cool. You think you're bold, but are you? Are you really? Not so much, man. Not so much.

Oh and he will become the sixth Flame to win the Calder.

Plett, Vail, Suter, Nieuwendyk, Makarov, Gaudreau.

Prediction? Pain...

But for Johnny, I'll say he'll lead the team in PPG but I find it difficult to see him playing the full 82 game season. Hudler to lead, Raymond in second. Too bold?

I predict he will be going way too early in everyone's hockey pool! I have mine on Sunday with a bunch of friends. There are 14 of us and I will report back on what round Johnny Hockey goes in. Would love to hear where he goes in your pools!

Troy Crowder, Flames Director of Player Development, was in Charlottetown tonight to see Mason McDonald play Val d'Or (see my post in the other forum). He was interviewed between periods and could hardly contain his excitement about Johnny, saying he was almost impossibly to properly check and that he could make amazing things happen out of nothing. Clearly, the Flames know what they have.

It really isn't. Gaudreau's NHLE is higher than what anyone on team scored last year, and he's been consistently making big improvements.

The only reason I don't think he'll lead the team in points is that I don't think he'll play enough games.

HUGE jump from NCAA and 40 games to 82 games in the NHL with western travel.

We'll see though. Even with 60 games, he'll make it close.

I would take a Healthy Glencross or last years Giordano numbers to have a better shot over Gaudreau

In my keeper pool the other night, which has 9 teams who keep 9 players each; he was the 109th pick, so with 81 keepers, he was 190th.
Straight points pool...includes Goalies...and teams must have 12 starting F and 6 starting D...so D and G get picked higher than normal.....

I'm surprised a simple google didn't reveal the number of times a rookie has lead his NHL team in scoring. Someone get on that.
