I still want to pick this game up, bit refuse to until the major discrepancies in my favoured game modes are fixes.
Be A Pro:
- Can you play the CHL prospect game to determine draft rank? *
- Are you able to play in the AHL at all?
- Can you simulate through your shift? *
- Are you able to make the Live The Life choices? (I never got to play LtL before but it sounded reasonably fun)
Be A GM:
- Can you create/edit a player and have them drafted in a later year? (I want to create my son as a 16 year old, place him on the Kootenay Ice and draft him when he is eligible) I will settle for just being able to create a player however. *
- How does the draft work now?
- Do players/prospects progress when they aren't on your NHL roster? *
- Are there any CPU initiated trades and is the CPU fair when it comes to trading?
BAP and BAGM are the only two modes I play and I don't want to purchase the game if those two modes are broken. The '*' denotes utmost importance to me. The rest I could deal with not being included if the starred were.

-Can't speak to creating a player for future drafts, but I know you cannot edit existing players
-Right now, the draft is entirely automatic. That is, your picks are made on your behalf by the CPU and you have absolutely no say in who you want to draft. Apparently they are patching a much-better version of the draft into the game in October (don't know when). Supposedly you will actually be "on the clock" to draft someone. Not sure how the pitiful scouting will play into this though.
-None of my roster players have progressed during the season, but I have had quite a few of my "In the System" players progress in the "Progression Reports" feature. Unfortunately, only 1 or 2 of my high potential players have made any significant progress, but players are definitely improving their attributes. Can't speak to between seasons as I have yet to complete a single season.
-The CPU makes trades between themselves and I have received a couple offers for players on my trade block. They aren't great offers, but you can usually make some adjustments to get a trade to go through. Unfortunately this still only happens if you go at least one of two ways: 1) rip yourself off, or 2) trade for players they are willing to give up (coloured in red).

I promoted Sean Monahan to first line duty and he's getting almost 20 min/a point a game. -> zero progression during 82 regular games.
Bill Arnold is playing on the fourth line and is getting about 6 minutes with 0.3 points a game and has increased his progression by 16 overall points during the same period.
I'm not sure what has happened between the two however I wouldn't be surprised if there was an update between release date and now that might fix certain things. It doesn't bother me enough to restart my GM mode.

monahan never really advanced for me. also remember arnold is a lower overall so he will grow more. typically unless you have a franchise player, they grow fairly slowly during the offseason. occasionally elite level players will get decent boosts as well

The main reason I'm holding off on buying NHL 15 is that the Colorado trainer's polo wasn't quite accurate. I'm sold now.

Which kind of sucks. The same thing happened with him last year.
Right now I have him on the top line, he is leading the Flames in goals and points, and will probably never get higher than an 86 or 87.

I updated earlier tonight just fine, game was working... now when I try to open it just says that it needs to update again, but that there was a problem with the update and something went wrong. Won't let me past the screen. Can try again with same result, or backout...

So super bad connection, finished the game in about 40 minutes with all the stuttering.
Win 3-2 in the 31st round of the shootout. Dude must be pissed:

Must be Side Street Pharmacist from another dimension. Looks like you were playing a slightly less better version of yourself.

Fair enough, but can I create a player at all? Probably not, if I can't edit one.

I remember before this game came out I said I didn't think it would be good and a few people tell me how I'm the worst poster around and that I have no right to criticize the game, then it turns out to be one of the weakest iterations ever.
It seemed like it was going to be bad because they released so little information so late and the videos they showed were all beautified non-gameplay trailers making it look like they were avoiding spreading any info about the game before release. If it was good they would have had people showing it off 5 or 6 months ago going through the menu systems, demonstrating how they worked on fixing lag etc. Maybe EA learned their lesson, maybe not. I'm not buying again until EASHL is in the game without lag every 3-4 seconds.

So they should just leave it undealt with?
I understand wanting things that aren't in the game presently, but it's bizarre to complain about them fixing something.
