I think Dissentower's posting habits are usually odd though due to his job. If I recall, he's an actual police officer (not anything to do with the game) and so posting at work doesn't happen like the rest of us and with shifts and such, you tend to lose them for days at a time. If he's like the cops in my family, you lose them for 4 or 5 days and then during the off days they try to stuff everything into a couple days. Plus he mentioned being on holidays starting Wednesday and that's when Day 1 ended, so had we been up and running yesterday, he would have probably had more to say.

Not defending the guy as he could be scum and that's an awesome cover, but his job probably comes more into play about his posting habits then most.

The reason I seem to be leading the charge against GP_Matt is because what he says makes no sense to me. He claims he is still aligned with the light and yet he admits he does not know if they are on the side of the light. Everything he posts is this vague stuff the just tells us he joined another group that he himself admits he has no clue what they are about.

Ok, answer this then. You had a choice to join or not, you chose to. Why? Why would you join a group you have no idea what their agenda was nor do you know what their allegiance is? Same question to you starseed, why join? Did you consider not joining? What was offered that made you think you needed to jump on board? There is not enough info we are getting out of these new groups.

-Yes I was in on killing RD, it was incorrect but I can't say I fault the decision which was pretty much a consensus by that point.
-Yes I miscounted leading up to the hammer, however, before the hammer was dropped, I pointed out my count was wrong. In any event, RD was going to go, and I didn't see any reason to wait, he hadn't contributed at all and I don't think anything he had to say would help
-There is not "no reason" to suspect Puxlut. Let me argue it better this time:

a. I didn't get a townie feeling about her day 1, as I didn't think her posts were really trying to zero in on mafia
b. We have to use the information we have, which is the mafia chose to kill devo22 and bizaro86.
c. I see nothing about their posts that makes them stick out as mafia, so we have to wonder why they chose those two. If we assume there are 6 mafia (which is a guess), the "chances" of picking any two specific townies for killing is 0.04%.
d. Because there was no apparent reason to pick those two, lets consider how the mafia chose them. I am saying it is not coincidental that they offed the two most important characters in the nintendo universe.
e. They would have looked at their own abilities vs. their own characters. While Mazrim has said things were done randomly, he has also said that characters are "not necessarily" indicative of roles or powers. That to me is somewhat ambiguous of a statement. They may think they found a pattern amongst themselves (even if it was truly random, which I'm not sure of) and chose to test it out by offing Mario and Donkey Kong.
f. So I'm doing the same, simply by tossing a vote out against Mario's "natural" enemy. And I promptly get jumped upon by 3 posters....

Also to Starseed when were you offered to join this group. And how much time were you given to make your decision?

I joined without understanding because it didn't appear to come with any strings. All I got was a cryptic PM asking if I wanted to join and I was able to confirm that joining would not affect my victory conditions.

I was hoping that joining would help me shed some light on the game. Possibly by providing an outside forum for communication, random PMs during the game with helpful information or a connection to other existing members who I might be able to rely on for information.

In the end, I did not know what I agreed to but thought it worth the risk.

-Odd things going on with GP_Matt. I tend to think he's town because he has done a good job defending himself. However, I think an analysis of his posts may turn up a lie (I haven't done it yet). A general rule is a liar is the strongest tell of mafia. Obviously he's going to be watched closely, he should be on everyone's radar
-I have had a hard time reading GirlySports. I wouldn't put anything on her dropping the hammer, and her first day posts seemed awfully contrarian a lot of the time. I think she is someone to watch.
-I haven't forgotten about squiggs, and he'd still be a good vote IMHO.
-I have a list of about 3 people whom I think are guaranteed town, the rest are up in the air for me.

I did not use any power on starseed and knew nothing about his role until it appeared this morning.

Delgar: it was day one. How would you like me to hunt for scum when I/we have a clean slate? I'm not an overly analytical person. I go by my gut. As for the characters, it could be argued that because I'm a Nintendo character as well, I am a member of the light like they are.

I thought I explained it pretty well but I'll elaborate.

There are 4 possibilities in terms of GP_Matt's alignment combined with how he became an Eternal:

1. Matt is mafia and he was put in the group automatically: I find this one extremely unlikely because it would be such a disadvantage for a mafia member to be publicly, shown to be part of a separate group (as clearly it looks suspicious).
2. Matt is mafia and he joined the group voluntarily: I find this extremely unlikely because if it were the case, I believe Matt would lie and tell us he was randomly chosen (as this would look less suspicious).
3. Matt is light and was put in the group automatically: I find this extremely unlikely because if it were the truth, Matt would have no reason to lie about it.
4. The case Matt is claiming: light and voluntarily part of the Eternals.

I suppose 5/6 would be if Matt is a 3rd party (Medvedev-like serial killer or otherwise) to begin with as I just can't see the game outing him as a separate entity.

Of course I'm not totally sure, and I'll continue to be suspicious until we have more information. I guess what I'm saying is for now I consider him to be no more likely than anyone else to be mafia, just based on him being an Eternal.

One more thing before I go into meetings.....

-the MOTs had a consensus that devo was suspicious... all the more reason for the mafia to not vote him out.

-My running theory on the MOTs is, this is a power they have that allows them to cast suspicion without anyone knowing who they are, which could become very useful as the game progresses. They are townies. They have other minor abilities such as talking to one another. And we also know they can be wrong (devo for example). THat being said we should press on the other two they mentioned, I just haven't had time to go back and review their posts yet so I'm not sure why those two were singled out.

I advocated for using the hammer because I believe (and still believe) that the mafia were attempting to deliberately stall us and come to the deadline with a no lynch.

The first time we waited for an explanation from Matt, he posted and confused everything (something I still don't believe he has offered an acceptable explanation for).

I didn't think RD's post would change anything, and it would only add to more confusion.

Indeed, I am a member of the eternals.

I can back up most of what GP_Matt has said about it. I was asked to join, I accepted. Everything is still very vague. It is neither good or evil.
