And probably if people make those comments in the future they will be called out on them or warned by the moderation team. That will be a good thing as some of them are very cringeworthy especially when someone was just sexually assaulted.

At coffee break I mentioned this story to my coworkers, all male, all over 45yrs old, about 9 of them in total. The response is the typical one you see, basically a high five for the kid hooking up with 2 older women.

I think these women should be punished, lose their jobs, but not spend 10+ years in prison, not for an act that this kid will be telling his friends for the rest of his life with great pride.

Will the kid being telling it with great pride or is that a shell he is forced to put on by society. Has this caused psychological damage to the kid where he will have issues trusting women in relationships in the future. I don't think from his interviews that you can say that there was no harm. I think that despite this being the school boy fantasy the predators need to be treated like predators. Otherwise in reinforces the notion that men cannot be victims of sexual assault because they always want it.

If it is repulsive if you switch the genders there is something wrong.

I think its because in Iceland 16 is treated like what we treat 18 in Canada.

Thats more or less the case.

Further though, the kid was 16 and it wouldnt have been illegal if they werent his teachers.

You look at the one on the left and wonder why she would risk everything for a teenager when in reality she should have no issues hooking up with her choice of 18 year old guys if she so preferred younger guys.

Agreed.

From the letter of the law, the only thing that makes this illegal is that they were his teachers, they abused their position of authority, it stands to reason that that position of authority should be revoked.

I think the most likely damage the kid will suffer is a lifetime of sexual disappointment.

Which, I guess, probably means some screwed up relationships with women in the future.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that even if the experience was good, its long term impact could be bad.

Therefore these chicks should go to jail for ruining this kid's life.

Or something.

Thor, what is the age of consent in Iceland, both in position of power situations and non-position of power situations?

Very true. Statutorily. The 'victim' loses their right to determine if they're actually a victim or not.

Its a tough one because this kid states that it was consensual but statutory legislation is in place to protect others from the same situation who do not consent.

No my point is that some people will have a different opinion of the situation if it is two male teachers and one female student. Some people view this situations as "a boy living out every male's fantasy".

That point of view is incorrect.

This situation is wrong, whether it is 2 males/2 female or 2 females/1 male is wrong.
