Whaaaa... Panago is miles ahead of any pizza chain. Unless you're just getting normal pizza?

For specialty pizza, panago is great. If you like spicy pizza, add jalapenos or chilli flakes to either the Chicken Club (which has Jalapeno Ranch instead of tomato sauce btw), Montreal Smoke Meat or the Cheeseburger and you have some great, spicy pizza. Buffalo Chicken is also good as it has hot sauce instead of tomato sauce.

I feel like getting regular pizza's like pep or canadian is just boring and a waste of a pizza.

As for non-chain Pizza's, my favorite is Sammy's but the wait is ridiculous sometimes.

What kind did you get? And when did you order? I find if you order when they're really busy the pizzas aren't as good (unfortunately).

The very best pizza ever made is made by a little Italian family pizza place in St. Thomas, Ontario called Capri pizza ( not to be confused with the crappy chain Capris pizza.) I think it started in 1965 and it is unbelievable! I have friends who drive from as far as Brantford to get a pizza from Capri. Expensive but my god!!! I have had pizza in many places both sides of the border and have not had better yet. If you ever drive through that town give it a go!

Sorry for the delay. Barely been home the last couple of days. Let me know if it isn't legible.

I can't totally remember now (it's a month ago!), but one was Hawaiian, which I generally love. It was a Saturday night, so maybe that's why it wasn't amazing.

Tried Bensonhurst Pizza on 17th. Good portions for the money, but the pizza itself was on par with Famoso (which is to say meh at best) The NY Crust vs Italian Crust didn't really seem to differ much. Service as mentioned on urbanspoon was atrocious. Pretty had to tackle someone to pay for this takeout order. Could easily have left without paying.

I started off with the Burning Bee from 4th Spot Kitchen & Bar. According to the official menu: Pizza sauce, Spicy dry rub chicken, bacon bit, mozza, breaded banana pepper with a honey drizzle.

seductively crunchy and the light honey touch really interacts well with the salt from the bacon and chicken. I'm hankering now for the Atlas Spaghetti & Meatball special.

anyone else get their pizza passport stamped and a review to share?
Pizza Bob's Mediterannean was a great thin crust. I really like Pizza Bob's

Nicastro's was an excellent also thin crust (my preference) garden Italian. The Nicastro is also a fantastic pie

4th spot, which I like a lot as an everyday neighborhood place, was a 3-4 out of 5, and both of the above are consistently better pizzas

Ya I was just excited at the time about starting off the weeklong pizza quest...there were definitely superior pies consumed later on. The two mega thick Greek style entries from Christos and Atlas were great value in that you only needed 2 slices at most to fill up.

The taste winner for me was the mortadella pistachio one from Posto...perfect crust. Those air bubbles on the edges are the greatest when they are charbroiled/blackened a bit.

Huh? Like as in Sammy's in Shawnessy and Breaside? You just phone ahead and they say 20 - 25 minutes, then it's ready when you get there, just like every other pizza place.

What wait times have you had?

Shout out to Niko's pizza. I ordered from them last night for the first time and my god was it ever good (yes better than Sammy's that everyone on here loves). Probably the best Greek style pizza in the city.

i don't like how all these places I'd love to try don't even open until 4:30, 5pm. I eat a huge lunch around 12 or 1pm and eat light later. Makes it so I never really get to try these places. I'd love to order a pizza from Niko's at 11.30 or 12

I tried Vern's Pizza tonight for the first time in many years. It is just as terrible as I remembered. The sauce is wrong. The pepperoni is wafer thin and looks like bologna. Never again.

I tried Pizza Hut some weeks ago and I liked their thin crust margherita. Very tasty. A little unexpected from a chain.

I never came back to reply to you... this has become my go-to dough now. Slightly easier and slightly better than my recipes. Thanks!

Yes its pretty good better quality and taste than your local corner pizza shop and definitely better bang for your buck than the chain restaurants. The only problem is that he closes super early some days like 930.So its probably not the good if you want one of those open till 0230 type places. The cheesy bread is really good as well better than anywhere i have ever had.

Its a two minute walk for me so its really close

Friday night I called (Shawnee) at 6, was told an hour, got there at 7, then had to wait another 15 minutes.

It was worth it. And understandable on a Friday night.

has anyone tried Bensonhurst Pizza on 17th Ave? They have Chicago, New York, Californian, and Neopolitan style pizzas.
