First day of camp included a two hour practice followed by a workout session. Looks like Coach Huska is running camps/practices/etc. much like Hartley: http://adirondackflames.com/news/?article_id=46
Quote:
Gouthro and the Flames’ goaltenders were the first on the ice for basic warmup and stretching routines. Twenty minutes later Huska, Gill and the Flames’ skaters made their way out for a warmup skate followed by passing and puck control drills. The practice then shifted focus to breakouts, odd-man rushes and small ice drills.

The practice lasted close to two hours and was followed by a workout session in the Civic Center’s newly built weight room

New Voice of the Adirondack Flames is Cameron Close (@CClose19). He looks to have previously called or did colour for some various New England College hockey games. On a less professional side, he did compliment a Canucks jerseys so not sure if I can trust him yet...
Beat Reporter for the Addy Heat (not named PMM...yet anyway) is Diane Nearhos. She can be followed on Twitter @dianacnearhos and will be keeping a blog about the team. She does post alot of personal tweets in between hockey information though. It's not a fully professional only focused twitter account.

Lost in Quinnipiac's high flying offense is the fact the Bobcats have some very good blue liners. He's a big, bruising defender out of Minnesota who plays a very simple game. He isn't flashy, but he was invited to an NHL Development Camp last summer for a reason. His offensive instincts have progressed, but he's the type of player who could be a fifth or sixth defender at the next level bases on his size and defensive prowess.

Seeing all this farm team news makes me nostalgic of the good ol' days. Although, did you see all those microphones in front of the players' faces! Four! Four mics! That's like four times as many as here in Abby. It's like there's some media there that actually cares or something.

Friedman thinks the Flames may have gotten something with Carr:
Quote:
20. Calgary’s got an interesting prospect in goalie Doug Carr. He won the job as a freshman at UMass-Lowell, then lost it to Winnipeg’s Connor Hellebuyck two years later. It’s not that Carr was terrible, it’s that Hellebuyck is a stud. The Flames signed him as a free agent, and just sent him to the AHL. Age (25) is against him, but he’s got some ability.

Individual game tickets went on sale this morning...there was a lineup to get them.
Unbelievable the support that Adirondack has thrown behind the team in just the two days that the players have been there and the actual hockey operations started up. I can't wait to hear what it's like inside the building for a game. I hope they don't scare the guys coming over from the Heat, not sure they were all that used to loud noises.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, after Burke, Cundari's the best interview in the organization.
Also, thanks Drury for the updates! I've been filled with a deep dark depression about the team not being in backyard that I can't pull myself to go out and search for news haha.

It's very weird looking at articles that have names other then you, Brandon or Dan. Very weird.
On another note, the first preseason game for Adirondack is tomorrow night against the Comets at 5pm EST. I'm trying to see if it might be on the radio so I can try to do a little PBP on the forum again since I doubt these will be on AHL Live.
