ok with me. They've pretty-much locked up a playoff spot, and this game isn't as important as the remaining games against the West. Maintenance needs to be a priority right now.

I want Cornish to be healthy for the upcoming games against the Riders and for the playoffs, so if he feels like he needs the week off I don't have any problem with it.

Jon Cornish isn't making trip to Montreal ... Details to come

Cornish said he made decision himself earlier this week. He's adamant it's not concussion-related, just says some things "accumulated." #CFL
|
He is sick and tired of winning the Player of the Week award I guess. Plus, he wants Grigsby and others to be 200 - 300 yards ahead of him so it is fun to catch them. 100+ yards behind from those guys are way too easy and not fun for Cornish
Anyways, they are pretty much locked up the playoff spot so no big deal if they started resting players like Cornish. I am sure Huf will not rush BLM and Charleston Hughes also. He might sit them out for another game after Montreal game.

Jeff Fuller was finally eligible to practise today and he looked good. He can come off six-game IR next week. #CFL

Bo Levi Mitchell: “I'm out here throwing and I'm doing a little bit of skelly now — it feels great." Week 15 against Riders is aim. #CFL

Hail Caesar!!
The Calgary Stampeders signed 6-foot-7, 285-lb. defensive lineman Caesar Rayford to the practice roster. Rayford played seven games for the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys in 2013.

Jon Cornish is Canadian player of the week, which he's picked up the last 4 times he's played. He's winning most outstanding Canadian again
Ian Busby@buzrbe3m3 minutes ago
Jock Sanders wins special teams player of the week. Hopefully that makes him feel better now that he's out with an ankle injury

Congrats to Jon and that sucks about Sanders (who had a great game returning punts). I guess that opens the door for Hugh Charles.

Cornish starting the trash talk ahead of Friday's big game vs. Sask
Quote:
The Stamps haven’t played at Mosaic Stadium since Week 2 of last season, and they haven’t won there since Aug. 25, 2012. But Stamps running back Jon Cornish is certainly excited to play there this Friday.
“There’s two things I remember about playing in Regina,” Cornish said. “One, I love getting Italian Star before every game. It’s my favourite sandwich shop in all of Canada.
“Two, I love watching the disappointed faces on Rider fans as they leave after a loss. There’s nothing better. They are so angry from all the beer they have been drinking the whole day. It will be an 8 o’clock game. Everybody will be drunk at the game. Seeing them go home unsatisfied . . . I want nothing more.”

Also in the link that Bar-Down posted from the Herald is the news that Jeff Fuller will be returning for Friday night's tilt. Just one more weapon for Tate and/or Mitchell.

The Calgary Stampeders have signed free-agent international defensive lineman Brandon Jordan.
The six-foot-five, 255-lb. University of Illinois alum played 17 games for the BC Lions over the past three seasons, accumulating 23 tackles, four special-teams tackles and six sacks. He played 12 games for BC during the 2013 season and made nine starts as he set career highs with 15 tackles and two sacks.
Jordan was an offensive lineman at Illinois but made the conversion to defence when he played for the Wichita Wild and the Chicago Slaughter in the Indoor Football prior to joining the Lions in 2012.

A September to remember for @jonnycornish - #CFL offensive & Canadian player of the month --> http://ow.ly/Cabf1
Ian Busby@buzrbe5m5 minutes ago
In September, Jon Cornish went from 19th in rushing to 2nd. 602 yards in 4 games. Player of month and Canadian of month. Um, he's good

“@buzrbe: Not sure if this had anything to do with why Stamps aren't rushing Mitchell back into action, but Riders are starting QB Seth Doege Friday”

maybe the "Omg why" was directed at Doege as starting QB
lol... i wish it was Sunseri, but then again, Doege frozen in the pocket moments would be a field day for our DL
