Where as Feaster essentially got bailed out by Colorado matching, otherwise our rebuild would have been set back ~1 season, and again, its his job to know better and he didnt.

What's silly is to suggest that fans should somehow be subject to historical decisions made on the part of the team they cheer for over which they had no control in determining how they respond to misfortune experienced by rival teams. That's ridiculous.
This is funny as hell, and it has nothing to do with anything that has ever happened to the Calgary Flames. On the contrary, Flames fans should "pile on" here because Edmonton is no good.

I imagine there is some sort of check list in league office to finalize a transaction where they have to fill in blanks of stuff like date of birth, nationality, draft year, etc. I would imagine nobody knows the rules better than the league. However it would make for an awesome story if Treliving or Burke tipped off the league.

Yes, Bill Daly said he would have had to go through waivers.

No, Jay Feaster and John Weisbrod can't point fingers because of ROR. The fact that the previous management of our team did something just as stupid has no bearing or reflection on us as fans, or our ability to criticize the Oilers for not only failing to understand the CBA themselves, but failing in the exact same way another team did last year.

I suspect that people are looking at how the NHL bent over backwards to bail the Devils out of their Kovalchuk stupidity and think the league would have done the same to bail the Flames out of Feaster's error. Dangerous assumption, however, as we aren't a team in Metro New York with financial problems. And the danger of thinking you can outsmart everyone like Feaster et al did is that the people with the hammer are more likely to drop it on their head when given the chance.

So now players don't need to reject the Oilers, the league gets in there and does it for them.
Never change Edmonton

so now that everyone's seen what Tkachev can do, is he worthy of a 1st round pick for another team?
