I swear every time I see someone post a Gaudreau clip (like in the opening post) I ask "How did he do that?".
Then I remember...it's Gaudreau.

Just got back from the game, Gaudreau was thrilling, but much like Treliving has mentioned needs some work when he is without the puck in his own end. That being said in his defense each time he made a mistake defensively he worked his a** off to make right which usually resulted in an offensive zone chance.

I thought this was a great showing, full game wise.
He gives another performance like today on Thursday, I will find it hard to imagine they'll send him down to Abby.

I thought Baertschi looked great as well, made some great passes but also smart defensive plays and engaged physically.

I fully agree I think he will make the Flames next Wednesday, but he has room to grow which is only a good thing if you consider he can make the roster without.

Sorry, force of habit by the by, Addy, not Abby
Once he figures it all out, he's going to be a deadly weapon. That's instant offence Calgary hasn't had... in a long, long time.

Thought Bouma, Colborne and Gaudreau were really good.
Not great nights for Monahan or Baertschi IMO.
Don't understand the negative comments on Glencross - thought he was solid.
Diaz struggled.
I thought Ferland was solid - he was certainly engaged physically.
Hiller was great.

Was at the game. Flames started slow and built. They really worked hard.
Hiller made some great stops and looked so solid. Gaudreau was hunting all night, fast and furious. While he did make some mistakes on back passing he did move into correct. His instincts are amazing. Once he was knocked down and kicked the puck toward the from of the net with his skate. Another time he was setup but his stick broke. Just the natural instinct is so creative.
Colborne was big, great and effective. Monahan had a couple really great chances and set Gaudreau up beautifully. Glencross was puck hogging and muscling, so I don't see why he didn't pass it more often in a pre-season game.
Ferland came to play.
Again, I don't think you can read too much into pre-season. This was one of the busiest pre-season games I have ever been to where the fans have been so involved and the c-train was so busy.

I agree with almost everything.
I think Sven had a good game. He didn't score, but he looked good, on both ends of the ice... He looked like an NHLer tonight, and has throughout camp. I have a hard time seeing him being sent down.
Glenny looked okay, I definitely think he's trying to get a few goals in the preseason this year; just because of that injury plagued year he just suffered through. Kind of like a: I can still do this, I'm worth a spot in the top 6, I'm worth the A, I'm worth extending. Know what I mean?

I can't wait for preseason to end so these PTO and borderline gifs can be cut.

I think Johnny is going to make the team out of the gate.
After listening to Treliving talk about how his biggest concern is how this team is going to score goals... I just can't imagine them leaving the most creative player off the opening roster. Even in the games Gaudreau didn't register a point, he was still magic with the puck. I think the team needs his creativity, and the NHL is the best place for him to hone it.

They have to give Gaudreau a chance out of the gate. With the kids skill set, and if they played hime in the right situations (especially as a PP specialist) he could be a solid Calder candidate. We haven't had a player with his raw skill since the 80's.
