pylon, I like you as a poster, but that post sucked. First of all, who said Vincent Li should be free, let alone in the quantity you suggest. Don't just make things up, especially in that context. Second, it's not zero sum. People can be up in arms over more than one thing. You don't get your one thing to be annoyed at and that's it.

I have a buddy who shat his pants on the bus. He instantly stood up so as to not let the crap soak in, instead opting to let it run down both legs and absorb into his socks. In his case, the bus was relatively empty, so he looked weird standing, but he was at least able to get home with minimal outward visible evidence of the accident.

even if you were neutral on what happened, there's at least 3 facts here:
1)there was a bag occupying the seat next to him which he had his arm over
2)the bus was crowded
3)it's not a "he said she said" deal, whomever recorded the video of the incident agrees with the victim with what happened, so there is a witness
if he had a claustrphobic disorder, would he really be riding a crowded bus?

I was just pointing out one of what could be thousands of scenarios where the guy may not want someone to sit next to him.
WIth all the things people could be irate about, and wasting time on the internet fighting, the fact that people have zoned in on some idiot acting like an idiot on a bus is stupid. Almost as stupid as me taking the time to point it out as stupid. Especially when there is no full set of facts, and this thing is based entirely on her side of the story.
I have had my crappy moments with other people, and if someone had filmed only my side of the confrontation or argument, I would also be ruined forever, as would pretty much anyone on this site.
My argument isn't about this one particular situation in general, it is with this whole e-vigilante thing where people, like most the people in this thread, pick their facts, based on what they can see, and go full ballistic, doxxing mode to out some guy that flipped some stranger the bird.
The stupidity of this whole thing is, in the end, within minutes of this confrontation, she got a bloody seat on the bus anyway.

Again, being irate about something doesn't prevent someone from also being irate about something else. Any of the reasonable reasons for him not wanting to sit next to someone probably would have resulted in him acting like a reasonable person, which he didn't. Instead he acted like a total dick, so it's more likely that the guy is just a dick.
If this video was "guy won't let girl sit next to him on bus because of bag" and he was just sitting there ignoring her, I almost guarantee this would have nowhere near the reaction it does now. Because he also acted like a completely inconsiderate, rude, dbag ... here we are.

So say it.

Haha, just because you want that to be true, doesn't mean it is.

A number of people have referred to them both being dicks. The woman does not come out of this well either.
Leprechaun guy is a dick for using a seat as a luggage rack and the lady is a dick for over-reacting, and pretty likely embellishing her story.

Then why are people continuing to press for justice? What other reason is there to try and identify him. Because all it will do is ruin the guy.

Isn't seeking justice a good thing? How does one ruin him?
I think most would want him to apologize and learn a lesson he should have learned by the time he was six years old.

The internet is a fickle b*tch.
Thankfully, all those issues previously discussed have cleared up.

The guy could come forward and explain his side of the story and issue and apology if needed. That might end the vigilante justice some seem to be looking for.

I'm not sure how everyone can just glaze over this story. I have quoted this for posterity.

I seem to think more people are wanting to see the car wreck unfold and the guy jump off a bridge than they are wanting to see "justice".
No one really cares that a guy denied a lady a seat on a bus.
The internet will watch a guy who dresses funny jump into traffic.

Sometimes I wonder if some people have never heard of the term 'put in in perspective'.
How do we know this woman didn't have raging BO and he didn't want her any closer?
|
That sort of comes with the territory of riding public transit. It also does not justify blocking a seat for *everyone* on a crowded bus.
Quote:
How do we know this guy doesn't have some sort of claustrophobic disorder and doesn't like being crowded by other people?
|
He wouldn't be on a crowded bus in the first place in that case.
Quote:

|
Totally reasonable assertion that makes his response completely reasonable itself.
Quote:
There are so many what if's, yet everyone is taking this woman 100% at her word. Yet as the victim of an assault, she sat right in front of him and continued to beak off at him. What a traumatized victim.
|
I'm not surprised that you seem to think that because the woman did not end up wailing on the ground, waiting on a man to save her, she wasn't assaulted. Unfortunately for you, a witness has confirmed her side of the story.

There's still literally zero reason for her to broadcast this event. Zero. Get over it like we all do when people are jerks. I first saw this on imgur the day of and thought it was the stupidest thing and couldn't possibly imagine it would get all this play. Him looking extremely punchable is driving all of this.
Her putting this on the internet and now not calling off the dogs after clearly seeing this get out of hand puts her in my bad books ahead of the guy.
