I didn't get that impression. When asked if he would look at all avenues to acquire players including waivers, he said yes. He said he thought maybe they could add a player at some point as they'd identified players in July when they reviewed every team and all of the players on it. Didn't seem specific at all

Bye bye Diaz. Sorry man, hope you get a job in the NHL but just not here.

I'd be happy if Diaz got a contract. He looks like a solid #7 that could fill in temporarily for Gio/Brodie/Russell/Wideman if there was an injury.

I get the feeling that Gaudreau is going to adirondack. Is there a limit to the number of players who can stay up for nine games?

I don't believe it makes a difference with Gaudreau

9 games does not apply to Gaudreau as has been stated multiple times.

Instead of being a jackass, try to answer the question. It wasn't directly about Gaudreau.

No there is not. (Besides the flames staying within regular roster conditions)
The only players left with the Flames that would count for the "9 games" are Bennett and Klimchuk (who will likely be assigned when he is deemed healthy)

Why can't he get a job here? He's been very effective on his tryout, arguably one of the better defenders. If anything, I don't see Brookbank lasting that much longer.

Ok bud sorry I misread your post, you weren't asking about Gaudreau?

Not about Gaudreau specifically but all of the youngsters.
After looking at the nhl rule book for roster size, the max roster size is 23. So, in effect, the rule limits the number of young players who can get their nine games in due to the veterans in the roster unless injuries come into play.

If the Flames end up claiming Elliott, I wouldn't expect them to keep Diaz (not that he hasn't been good) but they both play similar styles.

That is no limit to the 9 game rule directly There are other rules that you would limit you - you'd be below the cap floor, you can only have 23 guys on your roster like you mention, but you could do the 9 game thing with as many players as you want.
