He had a great rookie campaign and has regressed the past two years, so I wouldn't call it a classic sophomore slump.
Didn't get much of a shot after the lockout. Obviously fell out of favour after the 'regime change' in Colorado... You're right though; it's worrying that he's struggled for 2 seasons now. Although he put up impressive offensive stats with Lake Erie.

Yea, I wouldn't be opposed to giving him a shot considering our pool of D prospects.
I was there at the Vancouver game, and I counted 17 very poor decisions in the first two periods and I wasn't singling him out for scorn. The only time I noticed him was because of a really bad error. He just kept turning the puck over, not making passes when he should have and was basically a mess.
Of all the D-men I've watched over the past week and a bit, he has been at the very bottom and that includes guys like Gedig and the walkons.
He and Hanowski are the two players that have been the biggest disappointments this camp because they should be a lot better than they have been if they want to make the NHL on more than a injury fill in guy type role.
Realistically, both he and Hanowski should have been among the best prospect D-men and forwards because of their age and experience relative to the rest like Ramage was, and they were not.
Things can change, but the clock is ticking....
I completely agree. Cundari has been one of the most underwhelming d-men for us in the preseason. He has been slow making decisions, and has coughed up the puck numerous times in the defensive zone as a result.
Although with that said, I also think Diaz has been no good for many of the same reasons, yet he is still around.
I really wish that we signed Del Zotto as well as claim Elliot.
With the type of defensive prospects we have, it's a worthy risk
Quantity doesn't equal quality. I'm not sure either are going to change the team one way or the other. We need top defensive prospects. Hanifin please!

Well I mean they can't hurt. Plus think of Dep Zotto and his offense from his rookie year actually playing defense!
Unlikely, yes, but possible. But I feel Del Zotto or Elliot at their full potentials would change the team positively.
The only names I could see the Flames being interested in:
TROY BODIE - TOR
6'4" 219lbs RW Shoots R 29 yo 1 yr - $600k http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p....php?pid=71949 http://forecaster.thehockeynews.com/...layer.php?3921
Has ties to Ryan Huska, Brad Treliving, and Brian Burke from previous teams. Big, fights, right-handed shot. If the Flames hadn't traded for Bollig they would probably be all over claiming Bodie. If they do, then they clearly want to be patient and send all the young guys to the AHL.
CHRIS BUTLER - no way the Flames claim him, if he wanted to play in Calgary he would have signed here. I could maybe see Dallas claiming him if Ruff was a fan of his in Buffalo. They are short on NHL defenceman too. Otherwise he's going to the Wolves.
Ultimately, I'm not sure the Flames will pick up anyone this round as Samuelsson and Elliott probably aren't ready for a top-6 role and won't benefit from being a 7th dman. Bodie doesn't bring much offensively which is what Treliving seems to be looking for and is probably redundant with Bollig here. If Brett Connolly hit waivers I could see that becoming a serious consideration.

I bet he clears completely and everyone rages.
There's a reason why the Avs are willing to let him go and can't get anything for him on the trade market.
Now that I've said all that the Flames probably will claim him. At which point I'll flip flop and say what an outstanding move it is.
Such is the life of a CP poster.

Yeah they are not too high on him on the avs boards. They mention the two wonder moves he pulled off, but nothing more than that. I'm surprised at all the hype honestly
