He's 23 and only had his first pro season last year.

I thought you couldn't send down injured players.

No surprises so far. My guess is the final remaining cuts before roster finalization will be Baertschi, Ferland, Gaudreau and Bennett. Gaudreau will benefit from a cup of coffee in the AHL, and Bennett will stick around for nine games for further analysis and injury replacement.
I'll put my money on Sven and Ferland making the team.

If I recall correctly, Poirier met with a Doctor last week to get his medical clearance (no link, heard it on the Radio).
As Klimchuk is on the roster, I suspect the Flames will place him on the injury reserve list to start the season.

We have a lot of guys knocking on the door, guys like Setoguchi and Jones look like wastes of roster spots. Been reasonably pleased with Diaz, might be the only FA pick-up that I've liked (yes, I know he's a PTO). Would rather see Ferland than Bolig, honestly. Gaudreau and Baertschi offer much needed offense that Setoguchi/Jones simply cannot provide. Bennett might warant a nine game look, but it is still awfully crowded. Think it would be a shame if a guy like Reinhart gets caught up in the shuffle.

Has Gaudreau done enough (so far) to earn a roster spot right out of camp?

Clearly none of those 3 have any sort of chance at starting with the big team. Might as well get them acclimatized to Addy as soon as possible.

Jooris has arguably been the best player at this camp

Is it the halfway point of training camp yet?
Who, at this stage, is going to win the Battle of the Walk-ons? Diaz seems to be CP's favourite, but have Brookbank or Yonkman shown any promise?

Treliving said Johnny looked "okay" so far. I have a feeling he will start in the AHL.. which will be fine.

He's definitely in the conversation for a spot. I think Ferland is winning right now though.

I also think Johnny gets sent to the AHL, probably on the final cut of camp. He won't be there long, though. I think he would be fine staying but I can see why management would see benefit in a month or so of adjusting in Addy. Won't be surprised either way.
Makes me wonder who doesn't go down, though... Granlund/Baertshi/Ferland/Reinhart? 1-2 are likely to stay with injuries.

I think so thus far, and I still believe that he makes the team.

It's tough to see Smid's 5 teeth get cut like that, but I hear they've each been signed to PTOs in Edmonton, as they look to have shown enough prowess to fill out their D corps.

No big surprises yet. I think they can make another round of 7 or 8 cuts before it'll start getting interesting. Then we'll see if in fact the roster was created in July.
The last set of cuts will be tough ones. No so much on D or in goal. But their are a number of forwards that will be dissappointed. And maybe Flames fans too.
Hopefully the injuries will help make it easier.

It's too early to say that he is either played his way on or off at this point, IMO. Been good, but it is the later games, against tougher competition, that really matter.
He (like all the young 'uns) needs to impress over the next week if he (they) hope to be on the opening night roster

As much as I would like to see more exhibition games, the flames need to get down to business with their up-tempo practices now that they are at a more managable level. Good hard practice against real NHLers and then more intense exhibition games will tell the tale. I am worried that they are spending too much time mixing and matching lineups and keeping bodies up that really don't have much of a chance. I guess we'll see how it shakes out in the next week or so.

I have wondered, are banana slugs particularily agressive?
