Thoughts on the 2nd period

Both teams seem to be going through the motions. Need something to spark the team up as 3 games in 3 nights seems to be having its effect on the team.

Reinhart - seems off in tonight's game looks lost in the defensive zone or might be trying to overcompensate for his line mates.

Hudler - Seems very rusty with the puck

Russel - fighting the puck tonight

Still like him over Galiardi. Been critical of the guy but he has had a few good shifts especially defensivly

Signed in the summer. Announcement came in a group of AHL level signings IIRC.

Yup. I don't like them either. Any time you go literally any where here when Vancouver plays you have to learn to tune them out.

What I'm really po'd about is both games it seems its all about Vancouver during the intermissions. Even tho the game is broadcast is for both City feeds.

Vancouver and sport net is no good.

I see no reason why the Canucks would keep Horvat. Is there any reason to rush a guy who's not ready besides to excite fans?

I think Carr looking pretty good for a guy 4 games out of college. Looks to have the skills and playing style a few years with a pro coach could really work with.

AHL backup or ECHL starter this year?

Everything seems off tonight for the Flames. Then again, the mumjo jumbo line up the Flames have put forth against Vancouvers loaded line up does answer that.

I almost think they're putting guys like Granlund, Hudler, Bennett, Setoguchi out there to see if they can carry the offense without the usual support. So far, not much positive to say about that. There's been chances but nothing sustained.

Add to that the penalties, and the Flames can't gain much offensive pressure so far.

The score being only 2-0 though is a nice sign that at least the effort on D is there.
