Liverpool are one of a number of clubs set to be investigated for possible Financial Fair Play (FFP) breaches. According to Uefa's rules, all clubs competing in Europe must limit losses to £35.4m over two seasons.
There are punishments for those who do not, with Manchester City hit with a fine and a limit on spending and squad size in May after breaking the rules.
But despite losses of £49.8m in 2012-13 and £41m in 2011-12, Liverpool are confident they will be cleared.

Nice gesture by Forest last night.

Nottingham Forest fans will pay tribute to their former manager Brian Clough by wearing green round-necked jumpers in Wednesday’s Capital One Cup tie against Tottenham at White Hart Lane. All Forest fans travelling on official club coaches to the fixture will be given replicas of Clough’s famous fashion accessory to mark the 10th anniversary of his death on 20 September 2004.

Lol Man United vs West Ham on Saturday could get ugly again ... United has 1 CB left, and that's the one who's only been here for 2 games (Rojo). Blackett is suspended, while Jones, Evans and Smalling are all injured (who would have thought? ^^) ... so either Tom Thorpe or Paddy McNair will get a chance. I can hear Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho laughing already ... I hope Falcao, di Maria, Rooney and RvP are up to the task because United will probably need quite a few goals to win this one well, at least no one can say United is boring to watch ...

in the end, van Gaal opts for 19-year-old Paddy McNair. Interesting that he gets the call ahead of 21-year-old Tom Thorpe, who at least has some pro experience ... meanwhile all six summer signings start.

Newcastle started brightly against Stoke but were undone by a sucker punch as Peter Crouch headed home in the 15th minute. Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has reportedly said Alan Pardew will be sacked should they lose the game

Its currently 1-0. Isnt Pardew signed into 3014 or something ridiculous like that?

2 years into his existing 5.5 year contract, they extended him and the coaching staff until 2020.

As for the sacking, he claims it was a joke, but I have a feeling he was just covering it up after he realized the crapstorm it created. I mean, you have to think Pardew is done.
