The Carolina Hurricanes announced their Captains for the upcoming 2014-2015 seasons today. Last seasons Captain Brandon Sutter steps aside and takes on the role as Assistant Captain as newly acquired in the offseason Patrice Bergeron takes over the leadership role. Also returning to the Hurricanes leadership group is once again ‘Canes rearguard Robyn Regehr as he joins Brandon in wearing the A
Both Bergeron and Bergeron joins the Hurricanes through offseason moves with the Columbus Bluejackets and Florida Panthers. This will be Regehr’s second stay with the ‘Canes and also served as Captain till he was traded to Columbus on March 27, 2012

Great choice. Anyone who is good enough to train for the NHL by fishing and relaxing is a natural choice! Big year coming up in Dallas!

We figure Tavares doesn't need to wear a letter on his jersey because the Hurricanes have requested to the league that he be allowed to wear a gold helmet so all our fans across the world can see when the leagues leading scorer for the last two years steps on the ice.... a letter on a shoulder just wasn't enough
