No it's not. The intent was not to be racial at all. The guy is dark. Calling a dark person dark is not being racist.
You just like most of society have become way to sensitive/politically correct.
I can't believe we live in a world now where we can't call someone with dark skin....someone with dark skin.
And for the record.....I have dark skin.
It's mainly white people trying to do the nice thing. I think it's just weird seeing in an established newspaper. I don't see what's racist about it either.
If you wanna call black people black by all means go ahead. I honestly could care less. Makes you sound kind of ignorant if that's the only way you can describe people though...
You LOSE the internets.

Because he is as small as Johnny Gaudreau was in his draft year, but to make him even less appealing for draft purposes, he is also a potential Russian flight risk.
...but I also suspect that in the end he was not drafted because he—like the Edmonton Oilers—is no good.

Johnny Hockey earned his title through dominating a nation of college hockey, and putting up the best numbers of any forward in over a decade. Winning rookie of the year and following it up with a Hobey Baker finalist in his second year and Hobey Baker winner in his third year.
Tkachev "earns" his from a bunch of jealous Coilers after a decent performance through two weeks of training camp.
Some people are saying he is like Johnny hockey, but better defensively and only 18.. I don't know if I see that.
The real question is whether the oilers screw it up and don't sign him. Edit: Sorry, not whether, but when.
Has Tkachev done anything to earn the title yet? We weren't labelling Gaudreau as Johnny Hockey when we first drafted him. He earned it through his play the last 3 years. What's Tkachev done? I've honestly never even heard of this guy until I saw him in Penticton, and I only noticed him because he made Gaudreau look like a giant.
