Diaz was given a ton of PP ice. I think he played the entire 2 on the first one, and he played most of the second one as well. He looks good out there.

Granlund, Baertschi, and Reinhart each had a good period. Liked seeing Klimchuk jamming the front of the net near the end of the first. Gaudreau was OK, moreso with extra room on the PP.

The ice in this rink seems better than the ice in the Dome.

First half of the period was pretty choppy for both teams, more flow near the end of the first.

I like this new Cbc player for mobile. They run it through the built in Google video app now. It was so hard before to get it on my tablet to throw up on the big screen before.

Diaz is not even breaking a sweat - I say he gets a contract.

I like some of the offense that the prospects are flashing but as a group they need to work on their defensive game.

Oh I agree, but I figure Burke/Treliving may insist he starts in the AHL. I'd like to see him just make the team out of camp but have my doubts he'll truly be given that shot.

We often hear that the team will go with the best 13 forwards / 7 defencemen, but if David Jones is surpassed by Baertschi/Gaudreau I'm guessing they don't stick to their word unfortunately.

Gaudreau has been noticeable. He is just so patient, even when entering the zone. He has had a number of sharp angle shots on the rush where I expected he may try something, but IMO a) He is getting acclimated to NHL defenders/goaltending, b) he is getting the puck on net and not creating a chance the other way, which I'm sure the coaching staff likes to see.
