This move by the USA considerably extends Assad's shelf life. Assad had no answer for ISIS. The USA is able to his ISIS inside Syria, because Russia says it's okay. Russia has not okayed any strikes on Assad's position.
Basically, Russia has the USA doing their dirty work. Assad is Russia's closest ally in the region, and it looks like he'll be around for a little bit longer. After ISIS has been taken out, he may take power back indefinitely.

ISIS has been a godsend for Assad, they've degraded his opposition, strengthened his power base (alawite Shia) generally avoided attacking his forces, all the while making everyone think (as they should) that maybe we're better off with a secular thug.

Oh boy, genius move the the USA, using the 5-partner countries as cover. They can now present their case to the UN as helping the 5-partner countires in a inter-sunni conflict instead of we went after ISIS unsanctioned by Syria in Syria.

It's pretty hilarious actually. I wonder if the countries they mentioned even know they are involved. It was like they just randomly named 3 Arab countries and gave a rationale for why they might help, but then they didn't even say what the 4th Arab country was helping. It sounded like they were making it up as they were going.
Not that I disagree with the U.S. taking these measures to destroy ISIS, but it's funny how much CNN is just a mouthpiece and cheerleader in these situations.

Nah, it's there to justify the cost and firm up support for the massive overruns and lousy performance figures.
That it probably flew in a straight line at 30,000 feet across Syria and did bugger all won't be mentioned, if they show film of it taking off and describe it's mission as tactical support you can guess that was what it did.

I would say pretty well. Putin is not a fan of radical Islamic radicals either. Long history of that with Chechnya and what not.
It seems like Chinese Islamists are now joining ISIS in their fight. Great move on their part... they have now managed to piss off every sitting member of the UN security council and that takes real talent http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/...ticle20735422/

Many (if not all) of those countries also currently enjoy diplomatic relations with Israel. They are all happy to keep their regimes at the expense of groups like Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran. Destabilizing the region via funding these groups has proven to be a disaster to many nations.
Islamic radicalism is somehow creating a unified cause between nations.

It's interesting to me that Australia has supplied more ISIS recruits than their neighbour Indonesia, which also happens to be the most populous muslim (Sunni) nation on Earth.

I was thinking about how he feels about his modern anti-aircraft systems not able to see the F-22 or the new stealthy drone, NBC just said the Raptors based out of turkey likely took some out to pave the way for the rest of the aircraft.
The answer is a big friken NO, The muslims that claim to be peacefull also never say a word about the radicals and just "shrug" their shoulders when asked about it.
Bull F'ing ****. How many Muslims have you personally talked to about this? I know tons and you're completely incorrect in what you're saying and it's really offending that you would try to misrepresent the average Muslim like that.
It's such BS that they always get lumped into this stupid western, conservative white people version of themselves. Where they either
a) are a terrorist
b) support terrorism, or;
c) are okay with it
Most Muslims in Canada fall under the category of
d) I'm just a ****ing Canadian who gets up and goes to work and wishes for peace everywhere like everyone else, and can't stand when ignorant white Canadian's think I'm anything different because of my religion/culture/background.
So ignorant.
