My gut tells me Feaster just blew it and, as someone else posted, stated that the Flames disagreed with the alternative interpretation as an a$$ covering measure. Edwards et al are not idiots and I suspect it was ultimately a significant factor in Feaster's firing.
Damn that was fun to read.

Jarome Iginla figures to continue scoring big working with Matt Duchene

Quote:
Although Iginla has yet to play a regular-season game with the Avs, his combination with Duchene showed great promise Sunday.

"I enjoyed it a lot," said Iginla, who scored a first-period goal and assisted on Duchene's game-winner with 1:07 left in the third period that broke a 3-3 tie.

"I think there's some real good chemistry. I've been here about a month now, and although training camp just started a few days ago, it feels like it's been a few weeks now because guys got together early. I like playing with Dutchy and Factor (Ryan O'Reilly). They're skilled, they're quick and they create a lot. You can tell they've played together a lot, because they have great chemistry, and I just want to add to it."
Quote:
Duchene, who has played with numerous right wingers in his five seasons with the Avs, can't believe his good fortune in playing with a future Hall of Famer.

"I mean, his career speaks for itself, and I thought we had a good first game together, our whole line," said Duchene, who roofed a wrist shot over the shoulder of goalie Francois Tremblay to win the game.

The O'Reilly-Duchene-Iginla line was often matched up against the Burgundy top line of Gabe Landeskog, Nathan MacKinnon and Alex Tanguay. MacKinnon scored a pretty goal in the second period to tie it 2-2 after a give-and-go with Landeskog.

"That was a tough line to play against," Iginla said, grinning. "I'm glad I won't have to do that in a real game. There's so much skill there with those guys."

I don't mind the avs. I had trouble cheering for Iggy last year because I don't like the Bruins. Hopefully he can get it done with the avs.

Holy crap 'Factor' is a great nickname for O'Reilly.

That's a really skilled top 6, and players like Briere, Talbot, McGinn and the very under-rated Mitchell make for a good looking team on offense

Agreed. Much better than "Reils" or whatever he would usually be called.

I'm the exact opposite and will not cheer for the Avs. Patty Roy is a dick.

Roy might be a little arrogant but he's no Boston. Their captain repeatedly sucker punches people after clean hits and gets zero discipline for it, screw Boston. You hit one of them and they'll take it so poorly they'll assault you, the refs don't call it and the most annoying commentators in the league act like they're a bunch of great guys playing a clean game. I would rather cheer for the crying, whinging, diving and embarrassing Canucks.

Wait, what?

The Bruins beat the Canucks in 2011 Stanley Cup Finals. They are still in my positive books. (when not playing the Flames)

And that makes Boston not scumbags?

I can't cheer for this guy, he's a bully with no honor and as soon as someone that can actually fight him steps up he turtles. 9 minutes of Chara gooning it up (NSFW audio)

No, I am a Flames fan only and loathe Boston. They are everything wrong with the game, no honor whatsoever. Iginla's face was priceless as he was standing behind Lucic in the infamous handshake, I'm glad Iggy's with the Avalanche.

How can a Flames fan be happy that Iginla is suiting up for a former division rival and a current Western Conference one over an Eastern team that smited Vancouver? Wtf is a matter with you? I hate Colorado.

Because Iginla isn't a Flame anymore. I don't really care about players not on our team, nothing's wrong with me, I just have a different opinion than some of you which is too much to handle apparently.

Uh-uh, you said and I quote " I'm glad Iggy's with the Avalanche."

Obviously I meant glad he's in Avalanche as opposed to Boston but the desire to belittle via semantic rhetoric is clear. A very discouraging group of people, I'm out of here.

Though I'm disappointed to learn that Duchene goes with Dutchy instead of the more traditional "Duchy."
