Default Real Life Escape Games

Is this something that would interest you?

You and your friends are trapped in a strange room with only your wits and clues hidden inside to solve the puzzles, codes and riddles that are the means to your escape.
And the clock is ticking.
That’s the concept behind the live-action gaming phenomenon that has swept across Japan, Taiwan, China and some cities in North America over the past year. And it has now landed in Edmonton.
It would be an interesting the first couple of times, but I wonder if the luster will fade.

I doubt Edmontonians would be any good at this, they can't even escape Edmonton.

We did it this weekend. It was a lot of fun. We did the zombie themed one. It was pretty difficult. We didn't complete it. But we'll do it again in January when they switch to a pirate theme.

Sounds like fun to me, not as fun as airsoft, but fun.

I don't know, wouldn't it be more fun if you didn't know you were part of the game and thought you were in real danger of dying, or getting raped by a gimp or something like that?

I've done Escape the Mysterious Room and Escape the Time Machine in San Francisco. They were pretty awesome. Too bad you can only play them once since they tell you the answers at the end.

This sounds cool. Except, I would do it without friends or anyone else. And then just stay in the room.

Vancouver has had something like this for a few years. I heard of companies using it as a team building exercise.

I tried Escape the Mysterious room's Toronto version, and a couple of others in Toronto... They are a blast. Escape the Mysterious Room has about a 2% success rate, and my group was so close to getting out... Easily would have had it with 10 more minutes. (You get 60).

They have that game at the Chicken on the Way basement.

I haven't been yet, but friends have said good things about the ones here in Vancouver (Richmond actually).

I'm not sure some of my co-workers could even get inside the mysterious room.

Escape from Edmonton? I think people have been doing that for years.

I have been trying to get the social committee at my work to get us to go, but not many takers. It sounds interesting to me.

I did one in Zurich and we had a lot of fun (made it a competition against the team in the other room). Movie themed. First time my memorization of Ezekiel 25:17 from Pulp Fiction came in handy haha.

My buddies and I did the medieval one a couple weeks ago and made it out. Going to attempt the Zombie one soon, have any tips?

All I'll say is if something seems out of place, it's probably deliberately so. And if it looks like a clue, it is one and think about where the clues are located.
