It's not a huge surprise to see the attack struggle without last years 2 top goal scorers, but it's the midfield that's really worrying. It's awful to watch Gerrard and Lucas labour around the pitch while Henderson tries to do the work of 3 men. Gerrard and Lucas can't start at the same time, especially when Gerrard is on his third game in a week.

Gerrard only really works in the deep role when he has two workers in front of him, like Henderson and Allen. They provide him the protection he needs to do what he does best. When he doesn't have that protection it becomes quite apparent that he just doesn't have the legs to dominate a midfield anymore.

It'll be a tough move for BR, but I think he needs to start the transition of Gerrard no longer being a 90 minute player.

Spurs with another pathetic performance at home. This team just looks like it's not very good.

Liverpool, Spurs, and Man U all drop points.

Man U blows a 3-1 lead with 4 goals against after the 60th minute.

Looks like Arsenal, City, and Chelsea will be battling for the title this year.

Pathetic from United. That being said, it amazes that a clown like Clattenburg is still allowed to referee games in such a top league. Pathetic refeering.

Chelsea fans chanting Frank Lampards name as he scores, followed by them going silent with thousand yard stares and the camera getting a closeup on a bunch

is the early leader for moment of the season

Chelsea are very lucky to walk away with a point. They were by far the 2nd best team in that game.

"It was a stupid injury," said Redknapp. "He scored a goal in training and slid on his knee like a lot of players do. I don't know why players do it.

"The pitch was bone dry so he skidded. His knee has gone bang into the turf and I watched him trying to get up wondering 'what's he done here?' Sure enough, he wasn't fit for Saturday.

City are just stuffing Sheffield Wednesday. I havent seen a game this one-sided since Germany played against Brazil.

The expression "we look like Brazil" has a totally different meaning now.

And Gary is weighing in on United.

Quote:
"I know United have spent 150 million pounds," he (Gary Neville) told BBC Radio 5 Live. "I think there's another two transfer windows of similar amounts of money needed -- maybe 100 million pounds -- before they can even think about winning the title.

Yeah, they'd only be the most expensive team in the history of sport. Whats another hundred million quid?

funny thing is that even after spending all that money this summer, United is still only 6th in Europe in spending over the last 5 years. Liverpool has spent more.

6. Manchester United FC €425m
7. Paris St-Germain FC €414m
8. Tottenham Hotspur FC €384m
9. Juventus FC €365m
10. Arsenal FC €316m
11. FC Bayern Mόnchen €307m
12. Internazionale Milano FC €291m
13. AS Roma €288m
14. SSC Napoli €283m
15. Club Atlιtico de Madrid €273m
16. Milan AC €231m
17. FC Genoa 1893 €213m
