Chicken on the way; 10 Fresh chickens for $65.00 (Cash only)
I have told several people I know about this deal and nobody seems to know about it. I tried this for the first time about 6 months ago. This deal only applies to the Kensington location and you have to call in your order and they will call you when it is ready for pick up, usually 2 or 3 days after you've ordered. You can request whole or pieced, pretty sure minimum order is ten birds. They are frozen at time of pick up.
The chicken is awesome! Maybe the price is not such an amazing deal but the product is terrific and IMO far tastier than the typical grocery store chicken. The family owned farm (Okotoks I believe) has been in operation since the 50's and these chickens are free range, grain fed, no hormones and no anti-biotics. I'm lucky enough to have a freezer in my basement so the last time I ordered 20.
Here's an article from the Herald.

Great idea, but honestly, best place to browse every day is the red flag deals forum.

I get that, but sometimes wading through that hot deals forum is brutal. 90% of the deals are memory cards, and disposable electronics that heavily depreciate. Also since this board is pretty Calgarycentric, it may expose some local deals, that typically wouldn't make it to RFD since the deals posted on there tend to be nation-wide or online only.
I guess a good example would be, lets say a local bike shop was blowing out a particular bike. Typically RFD wouldn't be interested in that, because it would only be god for someone that lives here. Also, there are chains like Winners where every store has different inventory. I was in the Westhills one the other day, and they had some really nice Nixon watches for super cheap. One of my buddies is a Nixon addict, so I tipped him off and he picked up a couple he liked for half the price of anywhere else.
FYI, if you are ever in a Winners, always check the jewellery case. I have snagged some ridiculous deals on Citizen Eco-Drives there. Like cheaper than ordering them from the cheapest discount sites. Yesterday I found an Eco-drive Scuba fin on a metal bracelet at Heritage for $149. The cheapest anyone online has it is $245, and it retails at $425.

I agree with Pylon, this thread could be very useful for mentioning local deals. I check out RFD periodically but there is a lot of deals that go un-posted or un-noticed. I'm always up for a good deal on something (in particular I'm hoping for a great clearance deal on a Weber Smokey Mountain.)

What ever happened to the Calgary Deals thread? Did GoFlamesGo get too busy with the restaurant?

Pretty sure that's GoFlamesGo posting there as GDCivicSi. Exact same website and style as he used to do here.

Not Calgary-specific and RFD'ers likely already know about this, but with rec-hockey starting up the SportChek Team Assist cards are pretty good. They come with a 20% off anything coupon (regular or sale price) in it and all purchases made by the team is tracked and comes back with a gift certificate (I think 5% of all purchases?) at the end of the season.
No one on my team's ever heard of it so just in case there are others here. Signups: https://team.sportchek.ca/

Pro Hockey Life has a similar thing. Team gets money when people buy stuff. I think they give you 50 support squad member cards, when anyone (players, parents, coaches, family) buys stuff, they use the card, and the team gets a cut.

Also Sportchek's customer appreciation days are Wednesday and Thursday. 25% off regular price, additional 10% off items already marked down. Great time to buy top end hockey skates that rarely go on sale or brand new ski/snowboard/outerwear items.

apparently some stores let you stack the team assist coupons for an additional 20% off as well (RFD).....YMMV
