You never know where good players could come from. Giordano was signed as a free agent (undrafted) at 21, went and played a couple years in the AHL, got half a year with the big club, went to Russia for a year, came back and slowly developed into the team's captain. If that's not a story about letting a player determine his own future, I don't know what is.
Jooris' future will be determined by him. I just think he's worth giving a shot.
