Yup what a great striker.

Scolari's decision to choose FRED over Diego Costa will probably cost Brazil for a decade.

I wonder how many points Chelsea will drop this year. 12 out of 12 so far!

One teams winning streak predictably came to an end. Chelsea too much scoring power and overall team depth for Swans.

very promising performance from United today ... QPR might have been poor, but nevertheless - United haven't been that fluent and creative in attack for ages and all the new boys settled in well. Everybody will talk about di Maria (who was outstanding) and Herrera (who was fantastic as well), but I was especially impressed with Daley Blind. Not a flashy player, but gets the job done and was very effective in the defensive midfield role in a 4-4-2 diamond today (yes, you read that right Samuelsson - no wing-backs ). If he can play like this on a regular basis and against stronger opposition, Carrick and especially Fletcher will be on the bench A LOT. Which wouldn't be a bad thing at all.

The reds are a bunch of tossers. Rooney is a clown.

Am I doing it right as a City supporter?

di Maria, had some ridiculous passes, but agreed Blind was the sturdy, dependable player we need someone in DM to be.

For Samuellson.

I think the only formation that gets the best players on the field, is a diamond.

---------- Falcao - Rooney ---------
--------------- Mata ---------------
------- di Maria ----- Herrera --------
-------------- Blind -----------------
-- Shaw --------------------- Rafael
----------- Rojo - Jones -----------
vs today's
------ Van Persie - Rooney ---------
--------------- Mata ---------------
------- di Maria ----- Herrera --------
--------------- Blind -----------------
Rojo - Blackett - Evans - Rafael -

LVG likes to give youngsters a chance, and with Blackett, he touched & moved the ball a ton, some weeks back. Nice to see him get in. Curious, was there any word on Shaw's fitness again?

One small point I disagree with, RVP should've come off for Falcao, and not Mata.

Rio Ferdinand has hit out at David Moyes’s tactics as Manchester United manager, claiming some of them were “embarrassing”.

The former England and United defender has set out a string of criticisms of Moyes’s ill-fated reign at Old Trafford in his autobiography #2 sides.

Ferdinand said the players became confused about how Moyes wanted them to play.

“Moyes’s innovations mostly led to negativity and confusion,” he said in an extract from the book, which is being serialised in The Sun.

He added: “The biggest confusion was over how he wanted us to move the ball forward. Often he told us to play it long. Some players felt they kicked the ball long more than at any time in their career.

“Sometimes our main tactic was the long, high, diagonal cross. It was embarrassing. In one home game against Fulham we had 81 crosses! I was thinking, why are we doing this? Andy Carroll doesn’t play for us!

“The whole approach was alien. Other times Moyes wanted lots of passing. He’d say: 'Today I want us to have 600 passes in the game. Last week it was only 400’. Who cares? I’d rather score five goals from 10 passes.”

Ferdinand, who left United for Queens Park Rangers in the summer, said Moyes brought the “mentality of a small club” to Old Trafford. He revealed one of the first signs of future problems was when Moyes banned the players from their ritual of eating low-fat chips on the night before a game.

Ferdinand also disclosed his upset at being left out of the United side that played Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

He said Moyes took the players to a park to practice their set-pieces, which he said was "bizarre".

"It was amateurish," he said. "I mean, why not just send Bayern an email or a DVD"

And as they were standing in public, Moyes told Ferdinand he would not be playing as he wanted a bit more pace in defence.

"It killed me," Ferdinand said. "Inside I wanted to scream and grab him. I'm a team player, so I just had to bite my tongue and stand there. But it was probably the worst single moment I ever had at United.

"I'd never been dropped for a big game like that - and to drop that on me in front of everybody."
and to think there's still pundits who think he should have got more time ... thank god he's gone. Probably not fair from Ferdinand to throw him undet the bus like that, but I'm not surprised. Everybody knew that Ferdinand HATED Moyes.

I thought he should have got more time...

In other news, Henderson has been named Liverpool's vice captain. Pretty impressive how far he has come in the last couple of years. He has gone from being a player opposing fans laughed at for his transfer price to a mainstay in the lineup for club and country. If he stays the course then he could be captain for club and country eventually too.

he was almost swapped for Clint Dempsey to Fulham 24 months ago but the owners wouldn't pay the extra money, isn't that how it went?

sometimes the ones that fall through are a huge gift
I don't think he's great at anything but he's very good at quite a few, and not really bad at anything

It was Henderson himself that said no. He wanted to stay and fight for his place instead of moving. I think the money shortage stuff came after the swap was no longer on and they wouldn't match the asking price.

The one thing he's great at is his movement. He covers an enormous amount of ground every game and really allows the higher skilled players around him to excel.

I know this is way late, but when reading the story last week, this quote from 'Arry really made me laugh:

Quote:
"Leroy Fer has had two weeks away with Holland and has not played a game.
"He probably has been stood around and used as a cone while the first team play. He lacks fitness."
