When gaudreau is carrying the puck across the offensive blue line with his ridiculous speed and crazy fast hands you can feel the panic building in the other team's defensemen. Like they don't know what to do.
I've mentioned a few times in friends with a 30 year+ member of the WHL media, and he reached about Carroll. He's an a ton of great players go through, but "Carroll knows what needs to be done". I don't put a lot of stock into these games as it's more shinny than anything resembling hockey, but he really stood out for me. That Oesterle kid from Edmonton smoked his head hard off the stantion after the bench and kept going. Mad props. Ouch
Definitely one of the best non nhl games I've seen in recent memory minus the officiating! The fights! The hits! Dat skill! It had everything! Battle of Alberta on!

Was that big rig smith that laid that oiler plug out?
That was Hunter alright, and I like the huge grin on his face after the fight. Hopefully he joins the Flames in the future. Could use someone like that on the 3rd/4th line down the road.

Atrocious officiating. That was a classic example of a team of officials trying to make them game about them. Way too trigger happy with the whistles, and when they realized how badly they were skewing the game, they turned to even-uppers, making the majority of that game played short handed by one side or the other.
Really crumby to have a game ruined like that. But that's hockey for you. Glad it's back, but with it comes the odd game reffed THAT badly.
Yeah I had to stop watching in the 2nd period because refs keeps calling penalties. Kind of ruined the game for me.
I saw that video on Hunter Smith...man that was awesome hit.
