Some pretty bad breakdowns defensively but nice to get the win! Winnipeg is the 2nd best team in this tournament so the games should get a bit easier from here on in.

Didn't Granlund have points over the entire tourney last year? Nice game for him. Good to see the kids battle back and win. Lots of rust everywhere, but good start.

OOps, meant to say he had 4 points during last year's tourney.

Granlund and Ferland had great chemistry last year especially the last 12 games they played together where Ferland scored 17 points and Granlund had an 11 or 12 game point streak. I'd like to see them with Gaudreau against NHLer's and see where they are at.

If there's one thing that game showed me, it's who has pro experience. Jooris, Granlund and Ferland looked great. Ramage looked good as well. And it wasn't just on the Flames either. Lowery stood out big time.

Gaudreau was Gaudreau. He's more than ready for the pros.

You could also tell who was green. Bennett had his moments, but for the most part played a bit cautiously until the third period. Smith was aggressive, but hesitant at times. Kulak and Culkin looked bad on numerous occasions in their own zone, but had some decent looks in the O-zone. I loved Sieloff and Kanzig's physicality especially.

Overall, it was a solid come from behind win. Onto the Oilers tomorrow.

So I was sitting row 1 on the blue line. Johnny s goal was ridiculous! So awesome to see in live, YouTube is great...but...that was sick. Also great to see Ferland have such a strong game!!!

I thought Bennett played well, just had no help at all from his linemates most of the game. He was driving the net, creating scoring chances. Only one play in the second period where he coasted back into the zone and Winnipeg got a shot off that he could have stopped by not coasting.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about Bennett. This isn't edmonton. There actually is more to a player than points.

Bennett is fine. He'll likely head back to the OHL and tear it up like Drouin did in Halifax. Not a problem.
