Infection? If that's the kind of analogy you're using, the concept of a poll or voting system is lost on you.

you know whats even funnier is how ironic the public shaming or self moderation comment is. As a poster who's posted more than me and have been here for half my time. Are you sure you're not a returning poster?

Well that's why I said they were the "general" words. I basically defined mediocre. But hey, you go ahead and defend that you actually called his wife mediocre, because that's an important distinction.

As far as posting goes, I don't know, I usually have conversations with people. From what I've seen, you're pretty into just quietly jerking your gherk to the YLYL thread, based on how fanatical you are about defending it.
Warning: Only hot women may apply, BBQ will NOT slap his wet noodle to "mediocre" women!

To be clear, my post was for the Rush reference based on Tinordi's posts, not an indication of my position on the ylyl thread

are you personally attacking someone because they personally attacked someone. I don't think you are making the point you want. Because if you want show your better than somebody else, you actually have to be better than someone else. This would be a good time to be a leader and move CP to how you think it should be. Your trying to publicly shame someone, and it is not making CP better it is making this thread, which had good intentions, die, and it is showing how public shaming will lead to more arguments, more banning, more moderating.

BBQ, you did make a mistake saying that unfortunately, but it was said. And really StrykerSteve's wife may be stunning, I don't know, I never met her. If it was a posed picture with a professional camera instead of a phone selfie maybe you wouldn't have said what you did.

Have to agree with Tiger here. Name calling, belittling, insulting, public shaming…etc. should never have a place here. If this thread is truly about having respect for others, then we need to start with ourselves. Rise above people.

Unfortunately for everyone ( :P ) I'm not a leader, I'm just a dude.

I don't have much of a problem mocking someone who is mocking others, nor do I care much for an idea that for someone to be valid they must be infallible. I don't pretend to be better than BBQ, but I am different. I'm a bad person in other ways, I have defects, and I generally try to acknowledge them.

This is conversational. It's a message board. We are equals engaging in equal banter. I am not judging him based on his appearance, or even judging who he is an a person, but addressing BBQ as a poster based on his posts. I'm not sure how my actions negatively affect the way women are treated on CP, but I'd be open to hearing about it.

On one hand you say you have no problems mocking someone then you go on to say we are equals. Which is it? Everyone should feel free to disagree with others but mocking others is bullying.

We are equals, and I'll treat him as he's treated me. If that means I return mocking or being condescending with the same, then that's what it means. I often try not to, but I get caught up.

It's probably one of my worst traits, but it's me!

Im a fan of the YLYL thread the way it is. Nothing wrong with supporting the way it is. Are opponents of the YLYL fanatical on getting rid of it because they've posted multiple times against the thread?

Seems like quite a bit of conversations for someone who's supposedly new here. So did public shaming and self moderation chase you into having a brand new username

You could say I'm a fanatical detractor of the current state of the thread.

Again, I like to post long, tiring rants on the state of the world and my own perceived problems of society, annoying countless people who just simply don't care, while you like to look at boobs and butts in peace.

Different spokes my friend.

EDIT: And yeah, I can be a terrible hypocrite sometimes. I'm working on it

This sadly was your chance to be better too.

As for the YLYL thread, why not kill it, delete it, and restart it now that this discuss has happened. Monitor the new thread, people will try to be better, self police it (in a constructive way), and moderate it more. Then say Jan 1st (or enough time that people get back into there normal ways so this isn't fresh in their minds) we can re-open the discussion about the thread and see how people feel about the new one. If it still a negative response than delete the thread.

As for ongoing discussion about sexism, racism, or any discrimination, that can continue. As this is an important topic.

That's the point I was trying to make. People want to try to make it out as something else as if i was saying "I dont think women are beautiful without make up" and have tried to strawman that argument

Tiger was right, it's a good time to be better and clean it up. If you need to throw any more jabs to feel even, get 'em out of your system and let's change the tone.

This thread can still be about a more important conversation then the one we're having.

Unless you don't know how to form a sentence it is absolutely clear what you were saying. Honestly it was the most insulting thing I read in that thread, without a doubt. It's one thing to make mean comments about a model who has very little chance of seeing your comments. But your comment was personally directed at the sources husband. Absolutely shameful. After you said your comments, in my mind, your thoughts are absolutely worthless in this thread.

Came back to see what's going on in this thread. Mostly I see a lot of back and forth about who said what and who is treating who unfairly and who's a hypocrite etc.

With the experience of two marriages, I'd like to take this opportunity to say that nothing worthwhile ever comes out of those discussions.
