Yes, the flames app will stream to an apple tv from an iphone/ipad. It's what I'll be doing.

nice article for anyone overexcited for tonight:
http://blogs.calgaryherald.com/2014/...ineup-tonight/
Quote:
Starting with Bennett, the fourth overall selection at this year’s draft . . . .
“I love his determination, I love his body language,” Hartley said of the 18-year-old, who’ll be wearing No. 63 in camp. “You look at him and you know that he’s confident. The body language that you put in the game or you put in the dressing room around your teammates, in the gym . . . it sends a message. It sends a message to your teammates, it sends a message to the other team. I’m sure that this guy will make a great push at training camp.”
As for Gaudreau, No. 53 . . . .
“I’ve spent quite a bit of time with Johnny in the past months,” said Hartley. “No. 1, he’s a great human being. I believe that great people make great teams. It’s his hockey smarts with the puck. His knowledge of the game, his vision with the puck, his ability to create space for himself while giving unbelievable passes. It seems that he has that knack to make simple plays that other players just can’t do.
“He’s going to fight (questions about) his size. I’m sure he started this when he was seven, eight years old. He’s heard many times that he was way too small and he couldn’t do it . . . and here he is, knocking at the NHL doors. I’m with him. I’m a big fan of Johnny Gaudreau and all of our kids.
“This will probably be one of the most competitive camps in Calgary Flames history. We will have tough decisions. That’s what we like.”

Love it.

Gaudreau, Monahan and Bennett are going to be awesome.

Maybe off topic, but just out of curiosity
A. Who will be coaching? The Calgary or Adirondack crew?

B. Who will be doing play by play? The TV or radio crew?

I believe the answers to your questions are A: Adirondack crew and B: Radio guys.

But Hartley and the Calgary coaching staff are present from what I recall in the Hartley interview on the Fan the other day.

^^ If true, it'll be interesting to see all those guys in action for the first time.

Obviously not as interesting as watching the young guys play.

I read that half out loud in Hartley's francophone accent.

Very excited to see Nik Ehlers and Morrissey. Also hoping to see one of our young goaltenders get some quality action in. We need Pavs gone from the Jets. Hockey! Hurray!

I'm too lazy to look it up, but what are the sizes of our D? Quite large I think?
67 RYAN CULKIN D 6' 2" 195 L
73 KEEGAN KANZIG D 6' 7" 245 L
61 BRETT KULAK D. 6' 2" 190 L
55 JOHN RAMAGE D 6' 0" 200 R
84 ERIC ROY D 6' 3" 195 L
50 PATRICK SIELOFF D 6' 1" 210 L

Not small, that's for sure.

Note these are from the Flames website and likely not current.

Culkin 6'2" 185 lbs.

Kanzig 6'7" 245 lbs

Roy 6'3" 180 lbs

Ramage 6'0" 200 lbs

Seiloff 6'1" 200 lbs

Kulak 6'1" 180 lbs.

Roy and Kanzig are the tallest, Kanzig owning being the biggest (freaking monster!)

Second biggest over all in the system is Olas Mattson who is not there which is too bad. At 6'4" 209, he would boost up the size average quite nicely.

Kanzig is going to have to duck to get through doors and he'll always have to sit by himself at one end of the bench to offset the weight. Ya, he's a monster on D. I'm going to love watching him crush Ehlers.....

I like it, some grit on each line.

Ferland-Granlund-Jooris should be a dominant line. Good size and skill and lots of experience.

The thing I like most about Kanzig is that he's constantly trying to get better. He's been working on his skating and doesn't want to just be a "goon". I hope he can use his size effectively but I hope he can develop into a good player that can be better because of his size instead of a big player who isn't good enough (Breen).

Man I hope Kanzig can learn to play at the NHL level, he seems to have the relentless work ethic that Breen was missing.

Boston is going to turn Breen into something, and we're going to regret it. Well, probably not, Breen never got a consistent enough shake to prove himself due to injury and poor call up timing.
