I highly doubt they'd be letting you actually copulate with a female. You're likely jerking it in a cup.
Anyways, this is a nonsense conversation. I'm gonna step out.

Haha, by all means. I'm just saying this woman wants Brave New World-style reproduction.

I am very open person but none of these ideals should be forced on people. I am not opposed to anyone being a homosexual and I believe people are free to live their lives how they want. No one should be forced into beliefs or a way to live their life.

The saddest part is that she has a child who will likely be raised based on her principals and beliefs. I don't think it was mentioned in the article/interview but I wonder if she has a son or daughter?

Wasn't there a movie with that exact same plot? Not even that bold an idea if she had to copy it from hollywood.

To add: Even stepping past the whole male-female thing, which is obviously stemming from anger, her ideas about eugenics are right out of the Nazi's playbook.
Would this be the one acceptable time to label a 'feminazi'? It's a term I hate too, but wow... She actually literally fits the bill.

Why are we even discussing that? She's an extremist lunatic. Even the most radical of radical feminists don't support what she's advocating.
But most importantly, her ridiculous views have absolutely nothing to do with the topic of this thread or the broader issue of casual sexism throughout CP.

I dunno. Maybe just an aside to slow the topic for a while. I don't think anyone here is taking her seriously or suggesting it's part of the topic or a real counter argument.
As for me, I've been wanting to post in this thread for a very long time, but I can never get it to come out quite right. It's a very nuanced topic with many sides and arguments. In fact, the actual topic, should we close the girly pic thread, is the least important of the whole topic. The issues that we have to explore, IE what do we do about sexism on CP, and what is the role CP should play in our lives (if any), are far more important.
I'll probably post eventually, but it's going to be a sort of long winded talking out loud post, cause I really don't know EXACTLY where I stand, though I have a definite 'area'. And that's ok, cause I'd like input on what I'm saying, especially from the female members.

I've been wondering whether or not to reply over the last few days, and finally decided to do so. I honestly believe that rather than go with words and a poll, let the users discuss with action rather than words and revisit this issue in a few weeks or a months time.
Since it seems that the poll is not really valid anymore as it seems like individuals have since changed their minds and/or have been enlightened, if I were a mod (and I am not), I would suggest doing a probation period. The expectation is that the YLYL thread cleans up its act and also that the majority of individuals who have posted and commented in this thread clean up their act in comments around the site as well.
In the probation period, if the YLYL thread shows it can self moderate, then sure, maybe we can go with consensus and keep it as it and allow it to self moderate. Consider doing a revote in a months time? I don't know. This thread has gotten to the point where some individuals are either like, "If I knew this offended people, I would have stopped." or some just continue to act like jackasses. Most agree that there are issues with comments across the site. Why not we as enlightened individuals who have read the thread now call people out for some comments. No need for all out shaming, just stuff like, "That was a mean comment." or "Too far bro". A step at a time?
I know I have not been here long and am not as deeply rooted into the community as others may be here, but I do believe that there is a way to take a step forward without alienating or shaming or fighting each other along the way.
Just my 2 cents, take it as you will. I'm open to rejection of the idea. I can't say I have a solid grasp on the magnitude of the issue as at this point yet.

Just to be clear, not making a decision on the thread is actually making a decision on the thread.

No, not taking action on the thread is making a decision about it. Not making a decision is just that, because there are a lot of varied opinions and many things to consider as a community before we decide on the best course going forward. Quit being so presumptuous.

Maybe it's a semantic argument but choosing to do nothing is still a choice.

Nothing wrong with pictures of beautiful people, so I voted keep the thread. If someone makes sexist/derogatory comments, their post should be reported and I'm sure the mods will deal with them.
I voted... "Keep it but moderate more tightly including comments".

The longer this thread is kicking around, the more votes every selection gets.
Where's the funny part about people responding to a poll?

The even more hilarious thing is photon clearly didn't start this thread to see how many dudes want their titty thread, he started it see how many guys and girls had issues with it, and the thread has been successful in bringing out some concerns with the thread and the community that will contribute to his decision.
...but yeah it's hilarious that a bunch of guys on a message board are voting to keep a thread with half naked girls in it despite very valid concerns from female and male members of the board.
I don't think the fact that a male dominated hockey board was going to vote this way was ever in question by photon, he was focusing on those that didn't and how much their opinion and sense of worth in the community means to the mods, site owner and the rest of the community.
The poll wasn't a "battle" to see who would win, with the "show me some ass" guys winning, so you can go around beating your chests about it and mocking the thread now. However, I'm really not surprised at all that you and others see it that way.
