No more HBO 24/7
HBO pulls the plug. Crappy.
Quote:
HBO has decided to walk away from its popular “24/7: Road To The NHL Winter Classic” series, which has chronicled the ramp-up to the last three Winter Classics, according to Greg Brady of The Fan 590 in Toronto. Brady suggested the NHL could do some sort of behind-the-scenes show leading up to the Jan. 1 game between the Blackhawks and Washington Capitals at Nationals Park, but HBO — which offered a largely unfiltered and uncensored look at life in the NHL — won’t be a part of it.

It won't be the same without Sabretooth narrating.

Well that's just crappy. It was the best part of having Winter Classics.

Sure was. Now they're going to be super boring because they cant even manufacture buildup anymore.
And now I dont get Liev Schreiber narrating hockey and thats a shame.

It's because Dion wrecked the last one. He was such a poser in last years. Good Riddance.

I'd like to see them do the same thing but during the playoffs. Not sure teams would allow it, but it would be cool to look back at each playoffs with contributions from each or most teams.

I think they should do it for the teams in the Stanley Cup Finals. I'd love to see the behind the scenes of the SCF.

I don't blame them, I wouldn't want to cover the non-existent rivaly that is the Capitals and Blackhawks. As a huge supporter of 24/7, I couldn't have cared less about the show these two teams would've provided. Flyers/Rangers was the tops, in my opinion.

That's too bad. Probably because there were too many people like me who just waited and watched online instead of subbing to HBO and watching live.

Damn that really sucks. The last one was by far the worst but I think it had more to do with the teams selected. Regardless I still enjoyed it and would have definitely looked forward to more.

This is exactly what I've thought as well. A SCF themed one would be awesome. Even better would be watching a teams full journey to the cup but obviously that would be a lot tougher.

This is why it would be great to do the finals. Teams build rivalries no matter what, and you'd get to hear all the back stage nastiness that goes on.
I would KILL for a Bruins-Canucks 24/7 from their series.

Sounds like the league is heading in a different direction for at least this year's outdoor game:
http://sports.ca.msn.com/top-stories...-this-season-1
"The spokesman said the league would announce plans for its new Winter Classic all-access show partner Sept. 23 at Nationals Park."

NHL Revealed was a decent series last year. Hopefully they'll continue with this. Would love to see the Flames featured in something like this.
Does the mean a resurrection of Jay Mohr - 24/6?

Probably don't want to do the Caps again. Too bad, I would have liked to follow around Patty Kane for a few weeks!
