Brazilian star Ronaldinho has an offer on the table from Basingstoke Town, of the English Conference South.

Simon Hood, Basingstoke Town's marketing director, said: "Discussions have been had, and there is an offer on the table. Now it is up to Ronaldinho to decide whether he wants to take us up on it. He is on a free transfer and if he wants to get into English football, I cannot think of a better way to do that than by signing for Basingstoke Town."

Heskey appeared on Britain's "Soccer AM" on Saturday morning and was handed the chance to show off his talents to any potential suitors out there watching by taking part in the show's weekly trick-shot segment, wherein celebrity participants are tasked with simply walloping a ball through any one of five holes.

Heskey, in customary fashion, stepped up and managed to miss the entire wall.

Unbelievable.

Manchester United have dismissed speculation over Radamel Falcao's age after a newspaper revived rumours that he is two years older than he has claimed.

Falcao's stated age is 28, but The Sun said it had uncovered documents that showed the Colombia international's birthdate to be Feb. 10, 1984 -- which would make him 30.

most players peak at 26-30, value of a sale of a 28 vs a 30 year old I imagine could be 10m+ at least

Tottenham have been forced to announce they are 'highly unlikely' to move into their proposed new stadium at Northumberland Park in 2017.

The club must appear at the high court after the last remaining landowner, Archway Sheet Metal Works Ltd, owned by the Josif Family, exercised their right to appeal against a Compulsory Purchasing Order.

I understand that, but as thefunkyone states, its just a loan.

If United wanted to buy him they'd have done it now instead of just getting him on loan, and even if they do want to buy him they might get him cheaper.

If they buy him at the end of the season or whatever they're looking at a 29-31 year old. The difference is pretty minimal.

pretty sure they'll buy him if it works out this season. Van Gaal has indicated so and at the official presentation of Falcao and Blind today, Falcao flat out said "I want to stay here for many years" twice. I guess unless he completely fails this season (unlikely), they'll buy him.

The whole age thing is from one or two years ago and has been pretty much denied by all sides since then. It's just the Sun digging up old stuff again ... I am seriously amazed how many #### papers there are in the UK. I mean every country has one or two big papers that suck, but the UK really take it to a whole new level.

I imagine he did, but time is a crazy thing. I believe the only reason he was available on loan this season is because the insanely rich owner of Monaco is undergoing the world's single most expensive divorce. Literally. I say literally, but I should be more careful as my source is a pretty sketchy British newspaper, but it sounds legit! Haha!

But Rybolovlevs problems don't stop there, he's also in some legal trouble in Russia, which is why he wants to get citizenship in Monaco badly (since they don't have a extradition treaty with Russia), but he hasn't got it so far. In any case, the Monaco project is pretty much over ... there were rumours around the deadline that Moutinho wants out too.

It must be pretty frustrating for BR when Hodgson ignores the training regimen that was designed specifically for Sturridge, and he picks up a muscle injury.

Instances like that where direction was given and the injury is picked up as a result of deviation from a specific training regime the FA should be paying his wages whilst injured.

Agreed. Especially when he plays him 88 minutes against Norway in a friendly and he gets injured before the actual competitive match.

Hodgson better watch it, between Sturridge and Jones some of his English Internationals are going to be having a lot of convenient 'muscle strains' when England callups come out.

Its a bit different, the crazy Russian bought them and then got divorced, but it isnt much different than Zenit.

They were rich when they bought the club and then #### happened.

that type of spending with FFP wont even really work anymore

even Chelsea don't really spend anymore (without selling first)

the next round of big buyers who want to 'win' trophies as an owner are going to have to focus on clubs with room for revenue growth, which is led by Spurs/Chelsea right now because of their size/location and ability to fill out a stadium twice the size they have now

If the TV money in Spain ever gets fixed to be a more even distribution a few clubs there would be in the same situation as well
