I have a feeling you will see this $49.99 within a month at stores. Probably less at christmas because the sales are going to tank. Tons of people are returning their preorders that they made during the e3 promo. Even at $48.99, this game isnt worth it. Stores are gonna be badly overstocked on NHL 15s because of all the returns.

I have my PS4 copy waiting at home in the mail and have been contemplating over the weekend whether I want to return it or not. Most of what is missing are modes/features I've never cared about so I'm leaning more towards keeping it. I am going to try and see if someone is interested in buying my $40 HUT code so I might be able to knock down the price I payed to $20 before taxes.

You can tell that they pumped up the marketing to make up for a lackluster product.

The launch parties were actually really well done. Every person who showed up at the Pint got a free copy, a chance to win a PS4, and to play against Monahan. (He must play with McGrattan a ton, because he was schooling everyone.)

Who thought at EA Canada this menu system was appropriate? its so slow and clunky. Doing anything is so cumbersome and laboured. Yikes,

I was planning on downloading it today but after all the terrible press and missing modes and features, they have made me break an 11 year streak of getting the game on release day. Will this welcome 2K back into the sport? Can't get any worse than this cluster####.

its probably the worst menu I have ever had to deal with in any game. Not just sports.

The menus are clunky, there are modes missing but the gameplay itself is quite good for my purposes. (I don't play online and fill my free time with a handful of games here and there. )

There is an added dimension with the puck physics and the AI make far better decisions playing with and against you. I've had to pay a few times when caught out of position and the PS4 version plays better than last years game. It's pretty fun because the players are 'smarter' than in years past.

Sure the game isn't complete but by no means is it a bad game at its core. I wouldn't pay full pop however I think the mass implosion is really uncalled for.

Get a couple of full games under your belt, I'm sure at least a few people would be glad to have kept their discounted, pre-ordered copy of the game.

the menus and layouts are way worse in next gen version.

the screen ogranization and display of information is just terrible, i work in software, not in UI, but these are horrendous by any measure.

The line change screens in 14 were ok (though searching for the replacement player in a simple list was a bit annoying) but now it's just brutal. In Be a gm, the way each line highlights when trying to pick the replacement player is just nasty. also, the screen itself is so dumbed down, no player picture (ie. way better in 14).

The hut screen is flat out stupid. the 3d view is slow and adds zero value. I suppose some guy at ea thought it would look futuristic and innovative, but it's just a waste of time.

The menus are worse in 15 than they were in the previous gen. I also thought that next gen gaming would mean a reduction in load times between menus, and particularly load times pre-game. It takes 30s or so in the "loading" screen. At least fifa has incorporated little mini games for the user to play while the loading of the gameplay happens in the background, and that's been there for a few years now on previous gen hardware.

I'm going to have to offer some conflicting information here:

The menu system, IMO is a big improvement over last year and a lot closer to the perfection that is FIFA. The block/pages system is great, and I haven't noticed anything that I would deem clunky or awkward.

I think the fact that it really is an incomplete game has people looking at everything with poop coloured glasses. The gameplay and visual presentation is much improved, and for those that enjoy Live the Life/Be a Pro, I have to say it really isn't unplayable. I guess it depends what you want. Is it stripped down? Yeah, and I don't want to seem like I'm defending Rammer (guy needs to get fired hard), but he really is telling the truth when he says the FOUNDATION they put down is really impressive.

What hurts most is if you look at the base of this game, the potential is huge. The whole Be A Pro/GM menu area is probably the biggest improvement either mode has ever seen. It's clean, simple, and has a lot more relevant information at quick glance than previous iterations.

Is this game worth 70$? Please, no. Is this game worth playing? Yeah, it absolutely is. I bought it for 40$ and quite frankly, I'm fine with the purchase.

Is it a full game with everything we're used to? No. But is it still a fun hockey game that you'll likely get some enjoyment out of? Absolutely. For the few that bought it and were regretting it a bit, go home and play it. It's a lot better than the Internet would have you believe.

I wouldn't blame a single person for not buying it, whether it's because it's missing a feature or for silent protest against EA, but the exaggeration over how bad or unplayable it is has been pretty extreme IMO.

Take it or leave it, not meaning to get into it with anyone that hates the game, just wanted to offer a different view.

I can live without GM Connected and the downgrading from Live the Life back to BAP. I can even tolerate the auto-drafting in GM mode and non-playable AHL, but what is the point of playing multi-year GM mode if your prospects never progress year to year? Absolutely ####ing pointless. All the presentation and physics improvements in the world mean nothing if the game is nothing more than playing a pickup game on occasion and no year to year progress.

What? There is an update that downloads automatically that takes 2-3 minutes before you can sign into EA servers... if that's what you're asking.
