Poirier and Gillies both finished in the top 75 of voting as well, and Jankowski received a single 60th place vote (out of the 6 voters). No other Flames prospects (Granlund and Klimchuk, notably) received top-60 votes. Baertschi wasn't eligible as the criteria was Calder eligibility.

Reinhart and Bennett should be closer - I don't think there is a gap between the two at all and it's just a matter of which style is preferred.

There's only one centre between them, they are pretty close on the list. A few spots is not really a big difference on lists like these. But frankly I don't know how Teravainen is so high and ahead of Bennett. I'll believe it when I see it with Teuvo, I think he's a bit overhyped at this point.

Teravainen is way overhyped, he plays for the hawks so that helps where he's ranked

Granlund is quickly becoming the Flames most underrated prospect, imo.
Lights it up in the AHL as a rookie last year and had 5 points in 4 playoff games, not to mention he looked very solid in his time with the Flames.
To not even be mentioned in the "just missed" category is hilarious.

At first glance I was going to disagree with you as a top 60 list should average out to only 2 players per team but when Pulkkinen is making the top 60 I think there's definite room to include his countryman Granlund.
22 year old Pulkkinen
5'10 190 pounds
59 points in 71 AHL games (lead his team in points but Emmerton was ~ a point per game)
0 points in 3 NHL games
4th round pick in 2010
21 year old Granlund
5'11 185 pounds
46 points in 51 AHL games (third on his team in points (missed games) on a team with 3 players with ~ a point per game)
3 points in 7 NHL games
2nd round pick in 2011

I'm not sure how much these guys know as they list Poirier as a LW.

Once you get past the top 30 or 40, I am sure there must be a lot of hair splitting and unavoidable biases working their way in. It's just the nature of these things... I wouldn't read too much into it.

It's the Detroit bias which has lived on from the Zetterberg/Datsyuk picks.

Did Darnell Nurse have a bad year in Juniors?
Ehlers (same size as Gaudreau) drafted #9 this year is #19 overall?
Domi drafted #12 last year in a deeper draft is #25.
Hayes.... who even when he might sign with Calgary ... was ranked by CP to have the same potential as Arnold gets picked #58.
McDonald.... first goalie picked in this draft #34 does not make anybodies top 60
Zucale first goalie picked last year #36 is # 57 overall?
Shinkaruk did not make anyone's top 60.

I like that Gaudreau is the highest ranked prospect drafted outside of the first 2 rounds (4th round, 104th overall). Ahead of him, only Dmitrij Jaskin (2nd round, 41st overall) and John Gibson (2nd round, 39th overall) were drafted outside the 1st round. Given where he is as a prospect, it is practically like having a free 1st round pick.
The only Oilers prospect drafted outside the 1st round to receive votes is Laurent Broissoit whom we drafted and traded to them.

Which is pretty ridiculous in its own right. Seems like Brossoit is getting a bit of the Keith Aulie treatment where he's being hyped a lot more after leaving the organization then he ever was before. Coincidentally Aulie is with the Oilers now too.
Still that 2011 draft. Only player not to play a game in the NHL yet is Brossoit, with Baertschi, Granlund, Wotherspoon and Gaudreau all getting limited time. Could be a heck of a draft.

Nice to see that media still isn't citing Gaurdrea at 5'6 135. Still think he's too low in the rankings.

Yeah, I have my doubts that he would have received votes if he was still a Flames prospect.

Would anyone trade Johnny Gaudrau for Michael Dal Colle? They're both ranked close & play the same position.
