The Flames roster looks really good, lots of talent and experience there. Our prospect base blows the pants off of the Canucks.

Winnipeg has some decent players going...Edmonton roster is a bit of a joke, but that is nothing new.

I had a quick look at the Edmonton roster. Pretty ugly. One forward that might play in the NHL (Leon), one D man (Nurse), and zero goalies (unless you think Brossoit and his .880 save percentage in the AHL can make it). Be surprised if they win a game.

Yeah I'd take Gaudreau, Bennett and Poirier over Horvat, Virtanen and Shinkaruk any day. I still feel stupid about the way I reacted to the Poirier drafting, but to be fair I didn't know anything of Emile at the time.

But then he's not even playing... Well I'll take Klimchuk over Shinkaruk then. Granlund, too.

One of the big things that jumps off the page for me is how much heavier the Flames seem to be that the Jets and Oilers. Oilers have 9 players 200+lbs (out of 29), while the jets have 6 (out of 24). The Flames are sitting at 13 (out of 30).

Hoping we see Johnny paired with Bennett... who plays with them if so? Hopefully those two (and whoever rides with them) tears up the tourney.

Bennett and Gaudreau with "Big Rig" Smith on the right side would be a sight to see.

They probably won't shift any of the centers to the wing as they didn't bring that many, but I'd like to see something like this:

Gaudreau - Bennett - Arnold
Klimchuk - Granlund - Smith
Ferland - Elson - Agostino
Brabant - Magee - Padakin/Jooris

Smith on the top line would be interesting too. He'll be one of the most intriguing prospects for me in the tournament.

I could see a bigger guy like Van Brabant getting some time with them. If Gaudreau and Bennett are playing together you don't want people taking liberties. Speaking of which, I didn't see Wolf on the list, is not eligible?

I remember Granlund and Ferlund had some great chemistry last year.

Don't doubt this at all. Probably natural not to know as much about other teams prospects and therefore think that they suck.
