Didn't Rammer promise us a brand new Stanley Cup celebration for NHL 15 as well...... it looks exactly the same as 09 but without the stupid video projected on the ice.
The Stanley Cup looks awful. Virtually no reflections, strikes me as looking worse than in the previous generation of consoles.
Ok so for anyone who has the ps3 version; a few questions:
1. Does EASHL have better menu options?
2. Does EASHL have less lag? I know some will say port forwarding and whatnot but lag in EASHL was a widespread issue that most people had problems with and was not a clientside problem
3. Does EASHL actually have grading/credit for every game now or can people still dropout and the game doesn't give you credit?
4. Can people still pause in EASHL?
I want to buy the game, so much, but last years game was unenjoyable due to the 4 issues I mentioned. Thanks

Your going to have to wait till Tuesday when it's released for someone to give you feedback. Right now only EA access people have the pre releases and that's Xbox only, 6 hour gameplay.
You should actually be able to get impressions on the PS3/360 versions this weekend. EA Season ticket is still applying in it's last year, which means that there will be 3 days early access.

There's a pretty simple formula for figuring this out this year, even without playing:
Question: is there some improvement to NHL this year
Looking at the sales charts (from the link provided earlier) the NHL series sells about much much less than Fifa or Madden right now (10-20%). This is not a game that is going to get the attention or resources from a large parent company. They quite simply are going to get a better ROI on the other games. under a million copies sold just isn't going to get you a lot of attention when Fifa is moving 5+ million a console (PS3/360).

lots of people that pre-order get physical copies early, so its worth asking
I usually get games friday for pre-orders that release on tuesday but I cancelled after ea access lol

But a large part of that has to be low quality. I'm dying for an NHL game to play, only sport I like is hockey and the odds of me getting the new one is very low. That has to be the same for a ton of people. I used to buy the 2k football games and I don't even like football. Quality sells units imo. I had 500$ ready to go for NHL15 on ps4 and that's not happening now, just not worth it.

that's what I thought (and why I still have that season ticket rubbish this year), but I haven't seen any word on it. I'm downloading a trial of the ps3 version right now...so I guess we'll see what that's like
Signed up for 1 month of EA Access tonight just to play the full version of NHL15 on XB1. I did this because id rather lose $5 than $20-30 from buying and reselling the game.
Been playing it for a few hours and have to say what an utter failure this game is. Like I'm going to buy they REALLY tried hard on this game? What a load of crap, sure the 360/PS3 versions might be better, but the missing features in the next generation versions is INEXCUSABLE. EA Sports proved to me that they are good at doing two things, taking steps BACK in game development, and severely mismanaging their time, resources and money. We are supposed to be advancing in the generation, not going back, don't get me wrong a lot of people will still play PS3/360, but when we are in the next generation and you can't even muster up a full game in two years of development is a complete joke.
Nearly everything about this game is nothing really new besides some new physics and some comically terrible NBC commentating (oh did I mention the jerseys move as you skate!). Sorry, I will NOT give EA the benefit of the doubt because they don't deserve it. They left half of us in the dark, and still are, we haven't even got a reasonable explanation on why some of these features are missing from the game, besides "We ran out of time", what a load of garbage that is, how in the * world do you run out of time when you have two years to develop a game, once again... inexcusable. EA has a notorious track record for "promising" to patch previous NHL games, only to never live up to their promise. Sorry, we've been burned before by EA and I dont fall for their BS anymore.
I'd be ashamed of myself, and my development team if I released a half finished game, and would seriously feel bad for the fans of the game. I preordered this through the E3 deal a few months back and I will be taking it to Best buy for a refund once i receive it next week. Sure I was greatly antipicating this release and have been craving an NHL game (since 14 sucked), but its not the end of the world. And really, I already have very little time these days to play video games, the last thing I want to be doing with that little time is supporting a greedy developer like EA.
What an incredibly shady company.

One thing I've noticed, and maybe others on the EA Access program can confirm this, but I wasn't able to save or upload any of my NHL 15 Game DVR clips using Upload Studio.
Could be a glitch due to using a pre-prod dashboard build, but I'm not sure, since I could save clips from Madden NFL 15 on the access program. But NHL 15 was not having any of it.
I'll be honest, I did enjoy what part of the gameplay was there, but once I got back into the Be A GM menu, the experience was really lacking. I can't see myself buying this at MSRP. It would be like paying $70 for Metal Gear Solid V - Ground Zeros instead of $30.

Not that I don't agree that's it's bull#### they left out so many features but the biggest thing that fans are mistaken with is thinking they worked on it for two years. The NHL team has one of the lowest budgets at EA so they wouldn't have the resources to work on NHL 14 and 15 at the same time.

I agree. The development teams for the NHL games have spent so much time ignoring the obvious for the better part of two decades they have seen shrinking sales for a decade or so. Yeah to year fluctuations yes but the trend is clear. 2002 sold 1.2 mil on the ps2 alone. The last few iterations haven't sold that much on all platforms combined from what I can see.
However, there is also an appeal component to a game and hockey doesn't hold universal appeal like soccer and it doesn't hold the domestic north American appeal of baseball or football and more people are going to look to pay those games first. The quality issues just cause piling on.
“It’s mostly time and then with development on new platforms you always encounter new hurdles you didn’t plan for (technical hurdles), and it takes more time and resources to kind of overcome those. The team pushed hard until just a few weeks ago when we made the final announcement that OTP wasn’t going to be in there for launch. The reason why we didn’t talk about it before was we were still pushing and trying to get it in for launch. We’re 100 per cent commited to bringing back the EA Sports Hockey League as well and we understand the importance of the mode and understand our fans love it. We have the foundation now to bring back the EA Sports Hockey league bigger and better than we ever did in the past . The gameplay and presentation now are there,” said Ramjagsingh.

“We’re still working on it. We’ll probably have an announcement on the progress of it. Technically it’s a difficult mode because there are 8-12 players being controlled at once. So we’re going through that process right now and I was playing it last week. We’re getting there with it, hopefully sooner rather than later but we’re trying to get it out as fast as we can,” said Ramjagsingh.
If it took them 2 years to make what sounds like a complete mess of a game, I can't seem them being afraid to just cancel the game next year if sales are poor.

Why wouldn't they? Companies don't make products for the good of the consumer. If they see value in the future of the game they'll continue. If not, why should they make it? It's not a public service
