Have you ever watched 2 people gang up on one guy. The lone guy rarely if ever wins the battle. A couple of sober bouncers taking down a drunk isn't much of a contest and yes I saw plently of stuff like that when I a regular patron of the bars on the old Electric Avenue.

A good friend of mine had his nose busted back in the 80's when he tried to take on 2 bouncers. It was over in seconds and he didn't stand a chance.

Nope. We had 2 bouncers who had a drunk pinned to the ground. Bystanders said he was helpless as the punches were thrown.

Thanks for the recap. Without you we would have had to read the article or something.

Unless the allegations are true that he threatened them with a knife.

Jameson's should release the video surveillance in this case to stop the assumptions. If he did threaten and attack them first then they have every right to hit him even if he's down and still resisting. He could have a knife and his threats could be real.

Again, hard to have a strong opinion when it is the bouncer's words only and hearsay from the police.

I can't help but think that more people should get their asses whipped for being d-bags. Unfortunately, dbaggery is not often enough punished these days and it flourishes.

I'm a happy drunk and I don't act like an ####### at the bar so I've never had a problem with bouncers.

Sometimes, though, the dbags ARE the bouncers.

Either way, if the story went down as Jameson's says it did, the bouncers might have gone a little over the top but I stop before sympathy for the idiot.

I doubt we'll ever see the full video. We also may never know if he had a knife. If there is one I hope it's not just based on the words of the bouncers.

Jamesons tweeted that the video has been turned over to the police and the police have asked them to not make it public at this time.

On Global they showed two videos, one a cell phone vid of the last 20 seconds or so which make the bouncers look bad. The other from a gas station across the road which shows the whole incident when the guy goes back, he does run back in to the bouncers swinging. The second video makes the bouncers look pretty good.

You don't have to, the bar has video evidence to back up their story and the cops agreed that they were in the right

Global has the video in the OP as well as another video that shows the patron charging bouncers right after. IMO, if I've been threatened by this guy, and he comes back later and charges me, I'm making sure he's out.

This is a case of the original video not showing the full story.

The released video shows a beating for sure, but before passing judgment the other videos should be seen. They thumped him a few times on the ground, then stopped. I think that has to be taken in context with the whole of the altercation.

Also, that picture of him bloody after the fact, is a result of him smearing blood all over himself, probably from his nose, to get a sympathetic photo. Look at his hands, and look at the streaks on his face, and even his expression. He's enjoying the attention.

If he went back looking for a fight, as the reports suggest, he found one.

EDIT: And the metronews site cropped the photo showing his hands. Shoddy journalism. Not surprising.

either way, I can't stand watching a mismatched fight where one guy is getting pounded. (even if he started it, once down, would be nice if the stomping stopped)

The thud of knuckles and bone on skull, with possible head crackle as it bounces on cement is not my favorite.
