Prostate Cancer Foundation rejects thousands in donations

The Prostate Cancer Foundation has rejected thousands of dollars in donations due to the source of those donations being Reddit, in the wake of the celebrity nudes scandal.
Thoughts?

I can't believe it took them 90 years to find that post on Reddit.

Just to be clear, is it a case where these donations started as a result of a post about it in one of the threads about the leaked photos?
Or is this just something that came up in another part of Reddit that was totally unrelated to the photo thing?

Because if it is the second part it would be incredibly dumb to not accept the donations.

The donation drive started from r/TheFappening and was entirely related to it. It was essentially meant as a "hey, we get to see JLaw's boobs, and JLaw donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, so lets do that too!"
Even so, I am not entirely sure what to think of the Foundation's stance.

Regardless, PCF's stance is confusing as hell.

In what sense? They felt it was their social responsibility to care where donations were coming from and not accept them. Good on them for not taking money blindly, IMO.

I agree with the PCF's stance. These thousands of dollars were raised as a result of someone hacking the personal info of a bunch of celebrity women, and exposing files in their phones that were most likely not meant for anyone other than who they were sent to that day.
At the end of the day, it's money that was raised as a result of a crime. I don't think any charity would want to accept that.

I don't think the charity would accept the money either if it was drug money.

To clarify that is not the joke behind the prostate cancer donation.

It is known that regular ejaculation through, say, masturbation, decreases your chances of getting prostate cancer. The donation is in honor of JLaw who helped many men decrease their chances of prostate cancer over the weekend and continuing on into this week.

How is it at all comperable to drug money. This isn't the hacker giving illicit funds raised to PCF, this was some people who "felt bad" (be it morally, or for getting it free), and donated on their own volition to PCF.

Reddit has oft been mixedup in the news with 4chan & anonib where the actual pics are being released. Reddit is just one of many places to find those pics reposed.

With this decision it shows that, while he may not have a prostate, someone there has balls.

You quoted me in this... I never compared it to drug money, and what exactly in my post was incorrect?

Someone hacked a bunch of girl's phones, and released nude pictures of them. That's the crime.

The pictures were then sought out and re-posted by reddit members, who decided to donate to a charity in honor of the event so that they'd feel less guilty. That's the money raised as a result of the crime.

Think of all the donations done as a result of 9/11 (a crime). Clearly all those funds should also being refunded.

This wasn't people associated with the crime, or perpetrators of the crime, just unrelated people.
