In terms of timelines, the belief was that shutting down Wotherspoon when they did was with the aim of having him 100% for camp. Obviously things can get awry, but that was the goal, I believe.

I saw an article a while back indicating Doug Gilmour stated that Sam Bennett played 'through' a shoulder injury for most of last season. Given that he is said to be training hard, it appears to be a thing of the past.

Yes, he should be. Shouldn't be an issue. His appendectomy sounds like it was done the newer way where they only cut a couple little holes which is much less invasive and does not involve cutting through abdominal muscles anywhere near as much as the old way. You are sore for a couple of days and back to normal (non-training) ways within that week. You can start training a couple weeks after that. Looks like he's been skating and training since at least mid-August.

Hope so. Of all of our prospects I'm the most excited about him and JOHNNY HOCKEY. Although I think Poirier is probably more physically ready.

Of the young guys I think these two will be big contributers down the line.

- Hiller, is he back 100%?
- Baertschi had shoulder issues and some of us were concerned he didn't have a chance to beef up for the season, is he back 100%?

Anyone else I'm missing not 100% ?
Baertschi had fractured his rib in the first game he played in at the World Championships this summer.

That's awesome.

Do you work at or near Winsport? How would you know about them practicing in their off time?

I just look at this. I'm just turning 13 in a couple days so with my offtime I just watch to see if they've developed and stuff.

They were there today

Ollas Mattsson's fine. He played over the weekend against Rafikov's team at the Four Nations Cup.

There are some days I feel like I should focus on my career, stop hanging on every news article about aspiring hockey players, and grow up. Today is one of those days!

Any news on Michael Ferland and how's he recovering from his knee injury would be appreciated. I've always considered him one of the most valuable Flames prospects.

On the side note, it is quite frustrating to see our most physical and good sized prospects (Ferland, Poirier, Sieloff, Wotherspoon, ...) struggling with injuries yet at the same time I hope they get inspired by Lance Bouma and his strong comeback full of big hits and heroic shot blocks.
