Hrudy? I can't believe they signed a veteran instead of going with up and coming talent.

Not to sure of how I feel about Ball. I listened to a number of Canuck broadcasts during my 5 years in Vancouver, and they were terrible. They play by play and colour stunk of bias for the Canucks. I can understand a little bit of homer bias from any teams broadcast team, but would say that they took it to an unprofessional level.

All that said my opinion could be tainted by my total distain for everything to do with the Canucks.

People who work evenings or have obligations that require commutes. I've been stuck at work a few times and listened to a game.

Still trying to figure out how some people are not happy with Hrudey? Him and Ball are such an upgrade over Kerr and Simmer. It's night and day folks. It will be a pleasure to watch Flames games this season with this crew.

It's going to make things a lot more interesting to watch games in pubs that have the audio on.

Kerr and Simmer were ok to listen to from home, but in a busy place their voices just fall flat

PVR is awesome, but only if I can avoid finding out the score and if I know that I'll be able to watch it a little later that night. I'd rather listen live than watch a game after-the-fact that I already know the result of.

I actually really like listening to hockey on the radio, but obviously only if I can't be watching it in HD. Reminds me of my dad letting me listen in bed when I was a kid.

Charlie Simmer, bless his heart, had the innate ability to suck the life out of even the most exciting Flames game. I'm glad he's gone but wish him the best as he seems like a really nice guy.

Will Simmer's NHL pension still find his dye job? Or was that because the TV money was rolling in?

I think she's been on Sportsnet soccer broadcasts on the weekends. I seem to remember her presenting highlights between games and at half time.

The whole team.

Healey and Stock comes back, as does Cassie.

Interesting they got Pang and Johnson from TSN.

Leah Hextall is also new.

How the hell does Healy continue to be employed? I guess he's the Rob Anders of NHL broadcasting.

I've never listened to Derek Wills call a game before, wow love his voice, seems to be a great choice. I'm looking forward to listening in.

OP: It should say Ball and Hrudey, right?

I thought for a second it was now going to be Healy.

Sorry, that was my bad.

I was so astonished Healey has managed to hold onto a broadcasting job I guess my mind was somewhere else.
