It's so hot so that the cream and sugar additions don't bring the temperature too low.

My guess, anyway.

I vaguely recall learning in a business class case study of that old broad that melted her vag with a super hot McDonalds coffee in her car that they do this so the coffee stays hot for commuters while they drive to work, it was McD's justification for why they serve it so hot in the first place.

Perhaps but the fact remains no one is doing what the poster I was replying to was claiming:

I enjoy Tim Horton's AND Burger King.

With this merger happening, are Whopper-flavoured coffees soon to follow? I sure hope so!

Nobody in this thread for sure.

I've had it happen to me before with coworkers, family and friends. Maybe you don't do it, which is fine, I'm just pointing out the most annoying type of Tim Hortons fans. I even have my Facebook wall littered with fake patriotism because imperialist Americans are coming in and stealing our national icon.

I like black Tim Horton's coffee (among many other black coffees). I never understand how people on this site can get so militant about who has better taste in various completely subjective areas (cars and coffee seem to be common around these parts). Coffee is a lot like red wine to me. In a blind taste test, I doubt most people could tell the difference between common brands.

I'm curious as to where using your own beans in a Keurig stands on the coffee hierarchy.

Not worth the mess or trouble for a single cup of coffee, in my experience.

Plugged my machine to boot, but Keurig was kind enough to send me a replacement.

I got the knock-off use your own filter from Canadian Tire. Don't have to mess around removing the needle and stuff. I'm quite happy with them.

Less messy than the french press, I find.

This is how i drink coffee.

Put whatever K-cup i can find into the machine. Press start, drink coffee then wake up.

Coffee for me is about waking up. The taste doesnt matter.

Disclaimer : Starbucks black coffee is the only one i can not drink .

For me, I have only been a heavy Tim's user twice in my life. When I worked in Midnapore and it was the only close option, and the West end of downtown when the alternative was a long walk to Starbucks or get stabbed at crack Mac's.

Every single time the product was the same. Never good, never bad, just always consistent. Now I am more central downtown with every designer coffee shop near me. Honestly none come close to consistency Tim's has. I think that is the appeal, location and consistency.

Even the super latte-sipper high end coffee shop near my house is hit and miss. It can be the best or worst coffee drink of your life depending on the Barista, and for $4.50 a cappuccino that is a steep price to drink black death occasionally.

The reasons I don't drink Starbucks in the morning:

- Their espresso coffees are too expensive for daily drinks.

- I like 1 cream and 1 sugar in my coffee. Their brewed coffee is a crapshoot since they don't have one of those sureshot machines or whatever they're called which means you always get something different. This infuriates me beyond belief.

- Their food is garbage and 90% of the time I get a breakfast sandwhich from them, it's cold. I can name 4 or 5 food choices at Tims that I prefer over anything at Starbucks.

The reasons I don't drink McDonalds:

- Their breakfast is worse than Tims IMO. Again, I can name a handful of items I prefer over anything on McDicks breakfast menu.

- They don't have an XL. Honestly, I like having what almost feels like a bottomless supply of coffee in the morning. It's awesome. It's how I convince myself I only drink "one" cup a day

But I will 100% admit that McDonalds coffee is much better. Not even close. If I could stomach a Sausage Egg McMuffin then I would gladly make the switch.

As for other chains? Haven't tried any other breakfast besides A&W which I'm not a fan of either. If they don't have a drive through then they're automatically eliminated from contention for my morning commute business.

Not sure what you are eating off of the Tim's or McD's menu, but Breakfast Sandwich to Breakfast sandwich, and hashbrown to hashbrown, and muffin to muffin, McD's is vastly superior.

Look at the breakfast sandwich, real egg vs reheated egg patty. I am with you with starbucks having garbage food. It is worse than Tim Horton's in that the entire sandwich comes in a bag rather than just all of the components pre-bagged.

Coffee snobs need to realize that drip coffee is a North American invention and not "real coffee". For example an Americano is an espresso shot with water, created by the europeans to fulfull American soldiers desire for "coffee".

I feel sorry for people who are helplessly addicted to coffee, and even moreso those who are so anal about it that they feel they have to spend 5 or 6 dollars multiple times a day at Star#ucks for a cup of brew that's little different from any other brew. I mean every one has caffeine, so they all produce the same desired effect. Why drain yourself of thousands of dollars over the course of a year for a cup of overpriced indigestion?

Meh. I'll stick to cheap old tea.

Corporate overlord companies like 3G Capital freak me out. These are the kinds of companies that own things like the colour blue.
