Older lady who ran? Congratulations, she gets it. Sorry for your inconvenience.
If it was not raining, honk away.

My gears are somewhat ground by the fact that I don't know where to post these tales of my adventures today. I was just about to leave the Courthouse when I saw some loser actually coming out of the building in sweatpants and super polished "good" shoes. I had never witnessed such a thing. Was he from Edmonton or is Calgary not as high-brow as we would like to think?
Then I am walking away from the Courthouse along 6th and a Chinese lady with a heavy accept asks me how to get to Chinatown! Am I in Bizarroworld?
I wonder what other amusing episodes will I witness this day?

Come on guys, you act like if you are walking and get to an intersection, the hand is counting down under 5, you're just going to stand there and wait two minutes or are you going to book it across the street? Particularly in bad weather.

Depends if I see a car waiting half way into the intersection, anxious to turn.

People who walk around on busy sidewalks with super-sized golf umbrellas. I hate having to play frogger to avoid running into people`s umbrellas.

I absolutely do. It's not that hard. I will cross at an intersection if the light says walk or has the white man. If not, I wait two minutes. How hard is it to wait two minutes, instead of inconveniencing a row of cars trying to turn. You're not more important than all of those cars, especially when you are in the wrong. If it's raining I bring an umbrella, and if it's snowing I wear mitts and a warm jacket. It's not fair to cars that they can't turn because pedestrians want to cross if it's raining/snowing. If the car can't turn right on his green because there are pedestrians crossing, then he gets stuck again when those pedestrians cross in front of him when he has the red. At some of the busier intersections you'll see the crowd to start to cross after they are allowed, and before getting to the curb they start cutting diagonally to cross the other crosswalk. This cuts off all lanes of traffic. I'd prefer most intersections had the all walk/no walk scenario.

It drives me nuts when ppl dont hustle across the street when the hand is flashing. I do cross the street when the hand is flashing but after i have made sure that i am not getting in the way of someone trying to turn. Just show some hustle! Power to the vehicles!

Playstation 3's really grind my &^%&^## gears. I bought Dark Souls 2 when it came out and played for a day before my PS3 died, its an old backwards compatible. I finally had time to fix it and it was running fine no issues. Tonight I go out and buy a copy of The Last of Us and before I put it in the *&%&*^%&*^ thing dies again. I'm done with this POS.

Will the pedestrians wait 5 seconds while the cars turn on red? Didn't think so. Follow the laws, they're there for a reason.

Actually, when cars turn on red that's exactly what pedestrians do... or we die

That's the problem. The pedestrian thinks one person waits 5 seconds to save him 120. However the car has already been waiting those 2 minutes, and has to wait another 2 minutes because he missed his window to turn. Of if there are cars behind, the first car might get through, but now he's the only car getting though instead of 3.
That's assuming the same thing doesn't happen on the next light cycle. The sign says don't walk for a reason. And the city has found it to be a big enough issue to give some one way streets turn arrows; because pedestrians were ignoring the "don't walk" and looking at the car's green light.

I haven't read through this thread and it has probably been mentioned somewhere I am sure, but man do I get sick of those huge monstrosity child carriages that people get away with in busy public places.
I was at a festival today and there were some points where pedestrian traffic came to a standstill because of people standing around with what is basically the "Hummer" version of baby carriages trying to get past each other in narrow corridors.
It wouldn't be so bad if they were actually necessary, but I know people with kids that have small cheap simple strollers that they break out for these occasions because they acknowledge the problems they can cause in tight areas.
Also, it seems like most of the people who insist on using gigantic strollers do so because they basically want an excuse to be able to push a shopping cart around with them. Most of them have more retail items and snacks in them, than actual baby. I actually saw one guy with 2 cases of beer in a stroller and making the tot still in diapers walk next to it (OK, that was actually kind of funny).

Zero idea what you are trying to say. I'm saying I only cross as a pedestrian when the walk signal is given. If it doesn't indicate walk, I don't leave the curb. If I'm in a car, by having the pedestrian cross after they are allowed to, I've already waited my turn. I'm likely having to wait much longer, because someone is lazy, rude, and/or illegal. There are many situations where 4-5 cars should be getting through the intersection, yet not one can because of pedestrians leaving the curb early and late. There are clearly written rules that are easy to follow. By intentionally breaking them you are being a jackass and basically stating that you are more important than anyone else. Just wait your turn, like a self respecting citizen.

WGMG is that some groups like to walk in parallel blocking the whole freaking sidewalk! They are usually the slowest walkers too!
Isn't there a by-law in Winnipeg or somewhere that you can get a ticket if you have more than 3 or 4 people walking in parallel?

It's difficult to do so when one of them is on Twitter, one of them is taking a selfie, and the other two keep saying "Oh My God" to each other...
