Going by the public poll, I'd put him at #8 behind Wotherspoon

Like #10 or honourable mention. Below guys like Granlund and Reinhart who have impressed at the pro level

He still may prove to be a useful NHL player, and I hope he signs here so we get a "free" asset, but he looks much farther away from regular NHL duty to me than a number of our other prospects.
He didn't play with Gaudreau the entire year and prior to playing with Gaudreau his stats were already high. I really question how closely you were watching the BC games last yea rif you think he was "largely invisible" without Gaudreau. He put up 19 points in 14 games before Gaudreau and him were linemates.

He was above a PPG this past year before the GAH line was assembled and he was practically at a PPG last year before injury cut it short.

To add to what people have already provided in reply to this particular post, here are his stats before and after joining Johnny Hockey's line:

Before: 14 GP, 8G, 13A, 21 Points - 1.50 points per game
After: 26 GP, 19G, 25A, 44 Points - 1.69 points per game

There are other factors involved with players having breakout years, not just who they are playing with.

I'm not saying anything about whether or not the Flames are still in it. I'm just saying that sometimes people read what they want to read, instead of what's actually written.
If his tweet represents the truth, this is not a possible interpretation. "The 5 teams" does not mean "5 of the teams".

Hayes getting drafted gave the Hawks 4 years of exclusive contact with Hayes, that they couldn't get it done even with that massive advantage is a failing of the Hawks not Hayes.

Eklund has never been wrong regarding any rumour!

I just wish Hayes would sign so we can get back to obsessing about Sven. Oh, wait...we're already doing that.

Dustin Boyd is sitting somewhere just waiting for the dominos to fall and him to be the best guy remaining.

Marcin Hartman ‏@marcinhartman 3m Bruins, Flames i Predators - to podobno skrocona lista klubow, w ktorych widzi sie UFA Kevin Hayes.

I'm gonna assume this means that Calgary is one of the 3 finalists.

The guy has basically no followers and is repeating an Eklund rumor

A quick google translation:

This apparently shortened list of clubs, in whom he sees August UFA Kevin Hayes.

Right beside Arnold as a coin toss for #13. Knight was #14 and he is also a very good comparable for Hayes.

Pick your order for those 3, IMO
