Fraser Forster joined Southampton today.

The news was found earlier than some, with a welcome banner...

... already being deployed, in Anfield.

So now that Arsenal won the Community Shield, the season is a success no matter what, right?

Relegation might take the gloss off a bit.

We'd have to ask Moyes but I wonder if he really looks back on the abject failure, embarrassment, and banners. As something that was all worth it because of this

Pete O'Rourke ‏@SkySportsPeteO
Sky Sources: Sporting Lisbon defender Marcos Rojo has handed in a transfer request and says he wants to join Manchester United.

I'd be happy with that, Rojo was good at the WC.

Arry appoints Hoddle as first team coach
Good move. Shrewd with a good tactical eye albeit a bit of a wingnut.

Very strange, Liverpool reportedly offered £16M for Alberto Moreno and Sevilla told them to either pay the price of £20M or go pound sand.

Then they sign him for £12M?

Quote:
Liverpool have reportedly agreed a 12 million-pound deal to make Alberto Moreno their eighth summer signing.

Sevilla had so far dug their heels in over the transfer by demanding 20 million pounds for the player and even issued an ultimatum earlier this week that Liverpool must pay full price or move on.

Not a bad bit of business there.

ESPN getting all confused by currencies.

There is zero mention outside of ESPN of Liverpool having offered £16M. In fact that was Sevilla's asking price.

or 20M

God damnit.

Fletcher is vice-captain. That means he's staying.

Speaking staying or going, United are getting precariously close to the deadline without any additions to Centre Mid.

Yeah, I like Fletcher, obvious health concerns though and associated question marks over his energy levels.

No doubt though that he is an inspiration. Sort of fella you want to keep around.

He should pad his stats first.

The captain decides who takes the penalties, right?

In other news, Shaw is gone for four weeks. hamstring.

I wonder if he's actually injured, or if LVG is still being boss and told him he's still unfit
